Court of Appeal sitting in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, has granted bail to Uyo Senatorial District Senator, Bassey Albert Akpan.

The court granted Akpan bail on health grounds pending the determination of an appeal.

On December 1, 2022, an Uyo Federal High Court-led by Justice A.A. Okeke sentenced the Senator to 42 years imprisonment for corruption.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, arraigned Albert for receiving exotic cars worth N204m from a contractor of the Akwa Ibom State Government, Jide Omokare.

Reacting, Albert gave thanks to God after the court granted him bail.

I remember how Akpabio pacified him then with the senate seat for Udom to get the party's nomination. Uyo real boy is popular. I had a site I was working on close to his house at Shelter Afrique then.

Popularity with this level of corruption amounts to nothing but shame and failure.
OBA will not be the Governor of AKS.

In Akwa Ibom it's not about popularity, that's why they have good leaders ok.

This man collect 12 luxury cars that amounted to over N200 million naira from just one contractor, imagine how many he has collected from others as a commissioner of finance under Godswill Akpabio administration and you are here saying Wike's hand.
