Lord knows I love fried plantain so much.
Not only do I love eating plantains (I eat it a lot, by the way), I also love taking beautiful pictures of them.
For that, I created this thread gallery specially for plantains, so that I can exhibit the pictures I take.
So, for posterity sake, I will be flooding this space with beautiful pictures upon pictures of delicious looking fried plantains (in different forms) I eat, with or without accompaniment.
Basically, I just want to leave my dodo imprints everywhere shaa.

Oh! And, judging by what I see on Instagram, I take some of the best looking plantain pictures...if I do say so myself.

By the way, Afrolems once started her food blogging journey on nairaland, and now she's quite big and no longer active (on this forum), but she left her mark here, and I want to do the same - just in case.

It's sausages cut and wrapped in thin sheet of plantain, then fried. Fried eggs can be added as a side.

Meanwhile how do you get the plantain to wrap around the sausage. Won't it come loose or is it binded somehow to the sausage?.

First, one would need firmly ripe plantains (not soft) to make those.
The plantains should be cut in thin sheets, wrapped around the cut sausages, held together with a tooth pick, then fried on a medium heat.

Ohhh I see. Lol. Thanks for the tip. This is great to eat ..but equally needs great patience to finish through. I know myself, If I start with ten pieces before drying, I'll end up with three when done, since I would have tasted the other seven.

Just don't forget to drink water as you taste, so that you can be filled by the time you're done.

I like that the plantains are still firm and didn't soak up oil.
I wasn't into plantain much but my children made sure it became a kitchen routine

There's this Yoruba dish called ikokore.
It's made with grated water yam.

There's also this dish from the SS called Ukodo.
It's more like plantain pepper soup. (I don't know if you already have that on your page)

I will go with the Ukodo first, after that sausage plantain fry I already promised.
