$100 per day is about $3,000 per month. $3000 for one month for usa is poverty. Very deep poverty

Depends on where you live, $36,000 a year is not poverty for a single or married person, in fact the government does not even consider it poverty for a married couple with one child. In reality that amount is more than adequate for Montana, Alabama etc. but it would be suicidal in places like Los Angeles, Seattle and New York.

you should also know a job that pays $10 per hour in Los Angeles, Seattle and New York, same job will pay $7 or $8per hour in Montana and Alabama.

Which is $28,000 annually without tax. Poverty things

Yeah, I know Nigeria has dubious food regulation practices but for the most part, I just find it easier to incorporate healthier eating habits (nutrition wise) into my diet when I’m in Nigeria. We are like, saying the same thing?

Can you give me a typical example what health meal day will look in Naija?

Sure I will give you a typical example of a meal that is easy/convenient to get in Naija and tends to be healthi-er and nutritionally superior in comparison to foods like McDonald’s, frozen pizza etc abroad

Jollof rice

Even that amount is not poverty in Alabama, you can search USA federal poverty guideline, you would be surprised at what is actually considered poverty grin

Don't be deceived, Nigerians are going through hell and suffering abroad, most can't come back because they don't have money for a flight ticket!!!

Stop being unpatriotic and stay back to rebuild Nigeria.

They won't listen. They have FOMO.

Easier and cheaper to incorporate healthier, less processed food into your diet in Nigeria.
I always glow up when I’m in Nigeria for at least 2 weeks
Abeg stop lying! What has your "less processed food" gotten Nigerians other than a mortality age hovering at about 55 years still? Talk better make we hear! undecided

If your aim is less processed food, you can have it right here in abroad well well. So no need to make up bull for the show. undecided

The fact that you used the daily estimation of $100 to arrive at $3000 monthly meant you had never been to the US neither do you understand how the wage structure work there.

So you are clearly in no position to adjudge what is poverty by US standards.

People come on a public and faceless forum and give an impression of being knowledgeable when they know nothing about what they are talking about.

I didn’t say less processed foods weren’t abroad, my point was that it’s easier to incorporate healthier, more nutritious meals at ease in Naija compared to abroad where the ‘fast’ foods tend to be things like McDonald’s.

I didn’t say Nigerian food is healthy, I didn’t say it’s healthier in general, I said it is easier and cheaper to get access to a ‘proper’ meal on the go, vs abroad where it will be more expensive, or you’ll have to make it yourself.

Calm down

Naija's poor death rate is largely due to incessant road crashes (bad roads), poor healthcare, and insecurity (terrorism).

The U.S. obesity rate - 37%; Nigeria's - 8%.

Calm down.

1. You folks and just spewing stuff without doing your own research. Even Mcdonald's food is no longer labeled unhealthy since it pretty much mirrors what you make at home. So, why continue to spread these lies against Mcdonald's? Which part of your bother is overprocessed again abeg? The lettuce? the cheese? The tomatoes? The bun? The beef pattie? Name it. embarassed

2. So the easy and cheap "proper" meals that we have access to here abroad are what? Not? undecided
