President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday met with Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma at the State House in Abuja.

The meeting with Uzodinma may not be unconnected with the security challenges in the South-East region where gunmen have continued to unleash violence.

Addressing journalists after the meeting, the Imo governor revealed that President Buhari approved the deployment of technology to combat insecurity in the South-East.

He stated that the approved technology expected to be deployed immediately consists of surveillance equipment among other things to potentially control crime and insecurity, with minimal collateral damage.

Uzodinma maintained that he is not responsible for the insecurity in Imo, saying the challenge is not peculiar to the state.

According to the governor, those fighting him simply instigate an atmosphere of insecurity out of desperation and not because of underdevelopment or corruption.

Addressing journalists after the meeting, the Imo governor revealed that President Buhari approved the deployment of technology to combat insecurity in the South-East.

He stated that the approved technology expected to be deployed immediately consists of surveillance equipment among other things to potentially control crime and insecurity, with minimal collateral damage.

Likely fallout of the failed attempt to murder Mr Ohakim last week. That attack on a former Governor will make heads roll in security quarters. He is entitled to protection by the DSS so those casualties during the attack on him are a huge dent that can kill morale of security officers except FG acts quickly.

The technology will no doubt be a game-changer.

It is good that the request is coming directly from the State Governor and not that FG deployed it unilaterally. It is as good as coded state of emergency in Imo against the unpatriotic elements. FG can now keep 24-hour surveillance on all the activities going on in the state with DSS, Armed forces and Police using realtime actionable intelligence to de-escalate and neutralise until the operation is concluded on the orders of the GCFR.

Law abiding patriotic people with nothing to hide have no problem but for trouble makers, they are already under FG's surveillance.

It was never like this under Rochas Okorocha, hope brought all these to Imo State by sending army to take the first shot of killing his people in Orlu. And don't also forget that most of these crimes are committed by Ebubeagu which he also brought into the system

Security operatives should not spare anyone who is wreaking havoc in a once calm and peaceful Imo State.

A state that hasn't produced one good governor since 1999, yet some ignoramuses and educated illiterates, for reasons best known to them, are destroying the little development hard-working individuals have achieved.

Perhaps some separatist groups have decided to make the state ungovernable for Hope Uzodinma since he used the corrupt SC jury to rig his way into the state's seat of government.

If Buhari really meant well for South East, he won't be meeting only Uzodinma in other to solve SE security problems. Uzodinma is insecurity personified.
