As a political scientist, Reno really didn't mean to mention Tinubu. He actually meant to tell Obi to step down... because without it, PDP votes meant for Atiku are gradually going to Obi due to the division.

If Obi steps down for Atiku, Atiku will win by a very large margin.

Tinubu has the upper hand, anyways. But his upper hands are just government officials. It doesn't guarantee a win. It's not primaries delegation...it's the general election.

'The division is Atiku's loss, as the PDP and Northern interest block vote in the SE will now go to PO. It is in Atiku's not Tinubu's interest for PO to step down. If PO steps down, Atiku has won hands down!'.

You failed to get the point. Obasanjo, a former head of state then, was more popular than Falae. Southwest preferred Falae because they believed he will represent Yoruba's interest better. That's exactly what some of them are doing with Tinubu now.

But other regions, including SE, preferred OBJ who was more national than regional in his thinking.

You forgot to mention the campaigns by Obidients on social media and on the streets across Nigeria to get more people (mostly youth) into INEC voters register, which culminated in 10+ millions additional registered voters?

And just forget about the southeast having lowest number of voters in the country. Igbos are disinterested in politics before now because they haven't had someone so close to presidency like Peter Obi.

The voters turnouts in this election will be key to decide the race.

You are right. If PO steps down, it will give Atiku the better advantage because of SS and SE. Right now, the three candidates are balanced because of Kwankwaso's effect. He is the second most loved politician in the North behind Buhari.
