Is quite unfortunate that this country celebrates mediocrity and deception and as well patronizes zero sighted leaders who has no plans for this nation. How can we have great Nigerians like Peter Obi and yet we're so blind to see it. If Nigerians miss this golden opportunity to elect this great man as president now, then I will be forced to believe that Nigeria is cursed. As for me and my family, we're going to vote for Peter Obi. God bless Nigeria! God bless Peter Obi! God bless all the genuine hustlers out there! |

1. No nation can survive without saving for tomorrow. But a country which produces next to nothing is wasting her time saving money. That is what Obi does not understand. I don’t blame him anyway. After all, he is a businessman. Running a country is not the same as running a business. 2. The reason why we are talking about massive borrowing today is because we didn’t save yesterday That is too simplistic from a man who claims to want to improve an economy. The fundamental reason why we borrow today is because we are a consumptive country, which imports far more than it exports. The only benefit we would have enjoyed from saving money would have been investment. And by now, the investment would have been worth next to nothing. Obi should learn from his mistakes when he governed Anambra. What are the value of his investments today? Worth next to nothing. Saving is good, but it is more beneficial if a country produces. Otherwise, savings would only be good for investments, and for a country that imports and battles inflation constantly, it wouldn’t make any sense in a few months or years. 3. Nigeria is not a producing country. The cumulative effect of what we are suffering today is bad leadership. Indeed, bad leadership is to blame, if one considered cumulative effect. I agree. Which is why we tell people that Buhari (alone) is not to blame. Everyone shouting APC up and down need to understand that the mess we are in today is the cumulative effect of bad leadership. Past governments failed to do the right thing. That is why we are in this mess today. Imagine if Obasanjo had fixed power, Yar'Adua had begun diversification away from oil, GEJ had reduced corruption and continued with diversification, we would not have been so terribly hit by the global oil price slump in 2014. 4. Nigerians remain hopeful for a national rebirth, which implies returning Nigeria to Nigerians; farmers, teachers and students, lecturers, artisans, workers, pensioners and over a hundred million poor Nigerians who are not sure where their next meal will come from. Easier said than done. 5. We have to move from sharing formula to production formula. All our young people in their productive age are not doing anything, so we are going to have a crisis. This is vague. Indeed, there is a sharing formula. All we need to do is return to regional republicanism or start practising fiscal federalism. 6. Those who steal, if they come to church they will give them front seats, so, why would they not steal? They are the ones who are given chieftaincy titles, they are the ones who get titles in the world. So, we need to change all that. I agree there is an issue of accountability in Nigeria. Which is why I tell Nigerians that our problem is not leadership alone, but followership as well. Like African China sang, “Man wey steal Maggi, them go show him face for Crime Fighters “ But the rich man who steals billions is worshiped. We need a change of mentality, otherwise we will never make any progress, even if you put Abraham Lincoln as president, and make JF Kennedy and Nixon his vice. 7. In the battle to retake Nigerian, the odds are great and seemingly insurmountable, but with our commitment, patriotism and understanding that we are doing, what we are supposed to do for our country, lest she shall die, we shall move on discontent with what is and focused on enthroning what ought to be. In doing this, our battle cry shall remain: get your PVC and become part of this great liberation! Vague! 8. Such a noble task [of restoring Nigeria to Nigerians] brooks no conscientious objectors. I hardly use war metaphors for political analysis due to my belief that politics is not adversarial and not war. Empty. 9. The issue of tackling corruption and reducing the cost of governance is simple as it will start with me and my family members. It is not simple, sir. Wastage is common in Nigeria, from the poorest household to those in power. Nigerians waste almost everything, from light to water. So, by simply living frugally (even though we know you have choice properties stashed away in a notorious tax haven), wastage will not just stop. It is not simple, sir. 10. There is no need creating an office of the first lady to pacify women, when I can make them handle critical positions in Nigeria. First lady offices are not created to pacify women. 11. If a man has not created wealth, he cannot manage wealth A blanket statement. 12. I remember Ngozi Okonjo Iweala crying everyday, begging us to save this monies for the rainy day. Most governors disagreed. They said let us share it. Now we are borrowing to feed. Even if you have saved the money, but didn’t do the other that ought to be done, the savings will be worth next to nothing today. 13. I don’t have any single property in this country outside Onitsha. If you see any property outside Onitsha and they say it belongs to Mr. Peter Obi, burn it! But you have properties abroad, and yet have the audacity to ask Nigerians to be productive. Aside the fact that you are the single biggest importer in Nigeria, you are also very well invested away from Nigeria. 14. When you are borrowing for consumption, it gets to a stage when you cannot control it. Quite true. 15. I beg you to participate more in politics, the society we help them abuse today will take its revenge tomorrow Great advice. 16. If I sleep in a hotel and have to pay N250,000 a night, I will be awake all night feeling like I was robbed. Same as me. 17. The only way out of recession is to spend for growth. You can only spend for growth either from savings or from borrowing. The question is: what are you borrowing for? Are you borrowing for consumption or for production? When you borrow for consumption, you are heading for disaster. Our borrowing is greatly driven by capital projects. 18. I have never travelled abroad for medical checkup, even as a Governor. I won’t start now But your children schooled abroad. 19. We shall use percentages to share the Nigerian budget to the critical sectors like hunger, health, education, security, etc., before talking of the office of the president. Great. But we have had this promise from every candidate who has ever won elections in Nigeria. 20. Unemployment is worsening. Our unemployment ratio moved from 14.8% in 2017 to 18.8% this year. This means that more people have lost their jobs. We can’t survive like this. So, what should be done? 21. To you young people, take back your country. It is your future they are toying with. Then, why do you want them to vote for you? You are an old man. 22. We cannot aim for skyscrapers when we cannot maintain simple toilets. False. Rather, it should be that we cannot maintain a skyscraper when we cannot maintain an ordinary toilet. 23. I am not desperate to be President, I am desperate to see Nigeria work If you were desperate to see Nigerian work, you would have not have been importing heavily and contributing to the death of our economy. 24. I am a Nigerian running to serve every Nigerian. I urge a show of respect for every candidate, tribe, religion, and person. And we should just believe that? 25. Whenever I hear of no structure, my answer to it is simple; the 100 million Nigerians that live in poverty will be the structure. The 35 million Nigerians who don’t know where their next meal will come from will be the structure. You are not desperate, and yet you are desperately using poverty to influence their decision. 26. Every Nigerian child must be prepared for leadership, and every Nigerian leader must work for all Nigerian children. OK. 27. The common goal is to make Nigeria better. Elections are a democratic contest and need not be adversarial. True. 28. The society we abuse today will take its revenge on our children tomorrow. No country survives by recklessness and extravagance. Unless the present dangerous trend of governmental failure is reversed, the Nigerian child remains disadvantaged. Do not forget, sir, that critical sectors of your state went on strike when you were governor. 29. Nothing can be achieved with festering insecurity. Diametric security remains the bedrock of peaceful nations and thriving democracies. As we advance, proactive security will be crucial in regaining control of our communities. Government, for its part, must meet its responsibility to protect its citizens Vague. 30. But for bad governance, Nigeria has no business with poverty and unemployment. Indeed, sir. But you have not told us how you will arrest the problems from years of mismanagement. Your followers believe you have the magic wand. 31. Every part of Nigeria has the potential to grow and compete, but we are not doing that So, what are we not doing? 32. As a nation, we cannot be insensitive to the ongoing bloodletting and targeting of the most vulnerable and helpless in our society. Security measures must be proactive and holistic, more so in areas close to ungoverned rural and urban communities. Empty. 33. No country grows economically with a 35 per cent unemployment rate, which, when combined with under-employment, will be 55 per cent. That’s a figure of 60 per cent of unemployed Nigerians being youths—the greatest asset of any nation. Unemployment is multifaceted in Nigeria, sir. Tell us how you will tackle it, Sir. Your stats are virtually useless. 34. We must begin to look at the history of people who vie for any political positions in our country. Where was the person 25 years ago? What was he/she doing? How has he/she managed wealth and other leadership positions? SMH. Managing wealth in business or private life does not mean you will do well with an economy, especially one as peculiar as Nigeria’s 35. It is time we shunned ethnic and religious sentiments and vote a Nigerian leader who will unite every section of the country and ensure the integrated development of the nation. Tinubu and Atiku qualify ahead of you in terms of being symbols of unification. If we are to be petty, Tinubu married a Christian. Atiku married a Christian, and from the other two major ethnic groups (Igbo and Yoruba). But you, sir, are a Catholic, married a Catholic, and do not even boast of any unification outlook besides marrying a woman with as much semblance as you. 36. Nigerian women are assets that need to be put to good use. Let’s take a cue from Bangladesh, where the current and longest-serving Prime Minister is a woman. Their opposition leader is also a woman. Then, support a woman. Did you support Ezekwesili when she contested once? 37. I have always sued for the support of small businesses. They are the engine of economic growth. With well articulated fiscal and monetary policies, our small business sector will boom and catalyze the economy for more growth and development. This current government is doing this already. 38. A father must leave a better place for the children. That’s why he sacrifices to make life better for them. That is what leadership should be. You and the others should leave the scene as well, for the younger candidates. 39. We need the type of growth that will educate our children, and provide primary health care for all the communities. We don’t need development based on speculations that government officials are celebrating all over the place. We all know that your administration will be known for speculation. You have shown it so many times that all Nigerians will get from you will be statistics, with nothing else to show. 40. Nobody is talking about production. The country is not productive; that is why we are preoccupied with sharing. If we are productive, it will be very easy for Nigeria to grow and create jobs and do what others are doing. Have you ever talked about production yourself. While the likes of Dangote are producing, you were busy importing, filling our local market with foreign goods and destroying our naira. Suddenly, because of your desperation to be president, you remember production. Final Thoughts Yes, he contributed foreign goods and investments that are now worth next to nothing. If this is the type of man you think will salvage our situations, then I must say that Nigerians are indeed gullible. |

CoronaVirusRelo:Barefaced lies! The same hypocrite of a governor that shamelessly told you poverty increased during Obi's reign had previously said in a debate that poverty reduced during obi's government using NBS stats to backup his claims! The same NBS stats made by a ruling party had adjudged an opposition party governor in anambra state to have drastically reduced poverty in that state! If you claim that poverty increased during the reign of Obi as Governor, provide your verified stats from a reputable platform like NBS or stay quiet! Hilariously, your balablu roasted corn paymaster was seen applauding his failed mentee PMB for reducing poverty when the same NBS had brought a stats that 133 million Nigerians were impoverished |

iSense247: What legacy did he leave in the agriculture ministry? Being a minister isn't just enough. Audu Ogbe outperforms him in that ministry; truth be told. I don't know of his exploits as the president of ADB. Mind you, I do my business next to ADB headquarters here in Plateau, Abidjan. Your last line though. Doesn't it mean someone can't have a different opinion without you seeing it from tribal lens. You would've outlined his achievements let's compare them with those the person I mentioned. It's well with you. Anyway, happy New year. |
