Delta State for the past 20 years has always been among the top three in total revenue accruable from all sources in Nigeria. Yet the state has remained an embarrassment to itself and it's neighbors in terms of development. Take a look at it's transport infrastructure; the main means of transport in Asaba and Warri is Keke Napep. You cannot get a taxi or commercial bus plying the internal roads and streets of Asaba rather what you have are Keke which are even far more than the number of cars. Same applies to Warri; and the nuisance they cause is unbelievable, they cause uneccessary traffic cos of how they drive, they can hit you and tear your clothes and when they hit your car, they all gather to harass you and cause hold up. While Uber and Bolt are in nearby capitals like Benin City and Port Harcourt which makes commuting easy, Asaba still glories itself in d stone age of Keke. The govt has never deemed it fit to intervene directly like was done in Lagos state, get huge buses, perhaps double deckers, just ten of them is enough to serve the whole of Asaba and another ten for Warri to ease away these Keke. But the govt has enough money to buy so many buses for Atiku/Okowa campaign. For a rich state, it's a big shame. But the bigger tragedy is that even the residents of Delta don't seem to care, to them, Keke is a wonderful means of transportation and they have no idea others have moved far ahead of them. Delta should wake up, it's not a thing of pride that the third richest state in Nigeria is also the Keke capital of Nigeria. |

Apart from Ibori most of the delta state governors have been a disappointment and disgrace. They just sit down and share delta state money among themselves and crooked cronies… No single achievement for a state so blessed. The worst being okowa… |

You guys will just wake up, take some Igbo or kaikai and start posting trash. Some of you youths in Delta State are the cause of the problem in Delta. Little did you guys know that for Lagos to work and grow in the projection it is now it was tough. With tough decisions taken everyday. Some of you youth in Delta most especially Delta South and central are really mad. For Delta State to work in the manner Lagos is working the same or similar templates will be apply in the case of Delta. Fashola will tell you if you are mad or you dey craze for your village don't come to Lagos to deface Lagos, this is written in almost every nook and cranny of Lagos. In Yoruba term they will say "Eko ni baje". When this slogan was addressed in Lagos alot of the miscreants defacing Lagos had no choice but to locate their village and some ran back to Delta as expected. Today we are glorifying Lagos forgetting how they were proactive to make Lagos the envy of other states. That said: The transport system in Delta State has always been a priority in the government architecture but the stupid people of Delta will always end up frustrating it. From the Ibori regime to Uduaghan there has always been measures. Ibori brought in Toyota cars to help with transit but the good thieves of Delta collected them and took them as their personal properties. You will see it boldly written Delta Taxi well branded but Dem nor born you well make you stop am. Uduaghan felt that project failed because it was solely managed by govt so he brought his own in large numbers and had it crisscrossing the length and width of Delta State. With AC tight you can get to the nearest or far LGA of your destination with small money but the same Deltans were the first to accuse him of stealing the funds to go and dump in foreign banks and when he was caught he changed his plans to buying buses and cars. Very foolish set of people. The op must be a very ignorant fellow who probably was not born when this whole thing were happening. In Delta State the people are the problem not the government. The first Uduaghan empowerment program was to train and empower people and establish them. This project was equally frustrated like mad to the extent that most Deltans after they have been given their materials and financial resources they end up selling it off some use their own to travel abroad some went to get married. The Op does not know that BOLT is fully functional in Warri and environs he is completely out of Delta State maybe he was writing from the desert of Libya.

@Felimax, your Long Epistle is Unnecessary.. ![]() The OP is VERY right! Delta State has become a Dumping ground for Tricycles Production and trade in Nigeria. Keke Everywhere.. ![]() And the OP's grouse is dat it has now become the SINGLE REVENUE PRODUCER in Delta State. Keke has become the MAINSTAY of Delta state's economy. All Sectors of economy have been Abandoned by Stealing Master Okowa because of Keke! ![]() Does this sound cool to You? ![]() |

| Re: Delta State And The Stigma Of Keke by brain54(m): 7:21am On Jan 07, 2023 |
@felixmax… If you feel the youths are the problem then what has the government done to address this problem/situation? The aim of government is to provide solutions to problems. You yourself admitted the length to which the Lagos state government went to solve its own youth problem. So what are you saying? You sure say no be you take Kai Kai so? |
| Re: Delta State And The Stigma Of Keke by Odibembem(op): 7:22am On Jan 07, 2023 |
Felimax:You obviously are a juvenile, a deliquent one for that matter hence you assume everyone is a "youth" whatever that means. After everything you have written insulting the people and completely exonorating the govt, you still came to same conclusion that there is a big challenge to the transport infrastructure in Delta. Govt has the instrument of coercion, that it's unable or unwilling to use that instrument is the biggest testament to it's failure. Bolt is in Warri I agree but is it in Asaba the state capital? Can u board a taxi within Asaba? Way back in 2003, taxis were playing Asaba but what happened to them? The regulation of mode of transportation is the exclusive reserve of govt, the govt speaks and enforces, the people toe the line or get punished. In Benin City, as ancient as they used to call it, you won't see Keke along Airport Road, GRA, Ring Road up to Akpakpava and New Benin, in fact in the entire central district, Keke are confined to the city outskirts. That's what govt do, they regulate, enact policies and enforce. Since you are a govt spokesman and apologist, whisper to them to enact decent regulations and enforce. |

If Tinubu had run Delta successively, haters would say he only succeeded because Delta was a oil producing State and had the biggest federal allocation |

Felimax:You the OP, and your village people are the stupid ones. How can you collectively generalize and refer to a people as “Stupid”? Did you just leave YABA and you left your mental capacity to think there? The people in Lagos are not better than Deltans. Infact, lagosians are known to be very dirty and irresponsible lots. They feed in the scariest and dirtiest of places on earth. Legend has it that they can even eat their own poo! You should stop this mindless profiling of States and know Lagos is not the only location in Nigeria. It’s just the dirty politics of choice that made Lagos what it is today. It is even mind troubling that you concluded that the people are the problem in Delta State and not the government, what data did you use to draw this conclusion. Listen, you are either incapacitated, mad or both. Your conclusions are delusional, spurious and a figment of your imagination. As a Deltan, we pride ourselves as a people of National coercion, with purpose and promise. This is reflective in our national life as there are hundreds of Deltans who have brought national honor to the coffers of Nigeria as a nation. |

SouthSouth1914:Can you Blame the Yeye boy Felimax? If not for the USELESS, Stealing and Borrowing Machine Governor Okowa, he wouldn't have been Spilling those thrash! ![]() During Uduaghan's time, Delta State was OK and was not Littered with Lots of Keke as it is now.. Barawo Man, Okowa Has grounded every aspect of Delta state, so Keke has taken Dominance! ![]() Anyways, In The next Administration, Delta State will Rise up again! ![]() |

Odibembem:Truly, the narrative must change. Who are you voting for? Omo Agege or Sheriff? |
| Re: Delta State And The Stigma Of Keke by SouthSouth1914: 11:20am On Jan 07, 2023 |
Vinnie2000:Delta State is doing great, considering there is a state that makes 600Billion monthly and can’t even boast of disposing it’s waste and dirt efficiently. |
| Re: Delta State And The Stigma Of Keke by Odibembem(op): 1:57pm On Jan 07, 2023 |
sageb:Very difficult to choose between them, Sheriff ordinarily should be a write off cos of the way Okowa railroaded him in without any antecedent of his own apart from that he is prepared to be Okowa's boy while Omo Agege carries the toga of someone that's very harsh without laying out what he would do differently to move Delta far beyond the Keke level it is presently. As for Labour Party, it's scandalous that despite the huge support Obi has in Delta, no one is even remotely projecting their gubernatorial candidate. Seems people are contented to only blame the FG and exonorate the State governors for the low quality of life of the people |
