VFS or normal SA e visa?
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by goodlucktt: 1:25pm On Jan 10, 2023
normal SA Evisa, did it myself

Normal SA e visa takes an average of 1months, it could extend to 2,3months and beyond. You might want to apply for VFS e visa instead.

Hello Gernny , do you know you can’t use the evisa to travel with different date you stated you wanted to travel? You will need to reapply again right?

Ahhh this one is slow, you should have used the VFS E-Visa Platform not through DHA directly. You’d have wait a little bit.

Huh?
What does this mean? Someone should confirm this , because you should be able to travel within the days you are given. You can travel any day before the expiration of your visa nor necessarily the day on your flight reservation.

I wouldn’t know what reason will be pressing enough to them.

I basically want to go for a short holiday plus establish physical relationship with my customers over there.

I see a lot of misconceptions about the E-visa, and I would like to clarify them for everyone reading this thread.

The E-visa is issued based on travel date; for example, you were issued a 2-week E-visa that is valid from Feb 1 to Feb 15. You must travel on February 1 if you intend to stay for the entire two weeks, because no matter what day you arrive at the South African port of entry, you will be stamped in until February 15.

If you arrive in South Africa on February 10, you will be stamped in until February 15, if you arrive on February 14, you will be stamped in until February 15, and the same thing applies to any duration of an E-visa; you will be stamped in until the expiry date stated on the E-visa.That is the condition of the E-visa, and the immigration officer can even show you his/her system to see the condition upon arrival if you seem confused. By the way, I'm talking from experience.

The condition of the E-visa is different from the Visa Vignettes (Normal Sticker Visa), whereby any day you arrive in South Africa, you will be stamped in for 30 days if given a 3-month visa.

South Africa to offer Nigeria’s business leaders 10-year visas
South Africa to offer Nigeria’s business leaders 10-year visas
By Our Reporter on January 9, 2023

South Africa carried its “We are open for business” message to Lagos Monday, saying it worked on easing the misery of Nigerians applying for visas into the country and that it will now issue long term visas of up to ten years to proven Nigerian businessmen.

Bobby Moroe, the South African Consul General announced this Monday at a roundtable with the Lagos business community, which was also addressed by Ntakuseni Lambani, head of immigration at the Consulate in the commercial capital. He said the offer places South Africa ahead of all other countries in Africa.

South Africa is also offering Nigerians immigration under the country’s critical skill work visa and those who get it and work for up to five years in the country will be given the opportunity to get full residency status thereafter.

Moroe said his country was keen to promote investment into South Africa by Nigerians and that visa applications under the country’s investor immigration category will be treated expeditiously.

The Consulate receives about 120 visa applications in Lagos daily, but business leaders have long been complaining about the dehumanizing treatment they suffer while applying for South African visas and it is expected that the new offer will ease that pain.

“I am happy to announce to you that the government of South Africa has been reviewing its visa processes and a lot of improvements are being recorded. Today we can say that henceforth, we will be able to issue 10-year multiple entry visas to the business community in Nigeria.’” Said Moroe.

The Consul General acknowledged that mistakes had been made in the past, but said, “we have been listening and this session with you is a continuation of that process.

He also insisted that with the commencement of the issuance of visas for as long as three years recently, the feedback has been good.

Monday’s dialogue was the first in the series which will also involve a dialogue with members of Nigeria’s academia.

It is expected that with the offer of long-term visas, the number of applications will drop, and this should in turn cut the turn-around time for visa application

Exactly as long as the expiration date isn't over one can travel.
