Just to note guys, that there's no such thing as NLNG past questions. SHL practice questions are useful but people should not be mislead into thinking they are direct past questions from NLNG exercises.

Does anyone know what the "mechanical comprehension test" will entail? Not the actual questions, just the type of questions or something like that

If you want practice questions go to the shl website and take a practice test in the category that’s applicable to you. That should give you an idea of what to expect, the format of shl questions, and also how to set your pace. The time you some people use to type some questions here is enough for them to type it on google an get their answers.
All this dropping of emails for “past questions” will not help you because if you don’t go to the shl website and see the kind of questions they’re asking how will you know the right practice test to use or “past questions”?

Calm down. The mechanical questions are like puzzles, even someone that studied English language can answer them with the right preparation.


Scenario1: Imagine having a simple pulley system that has two unequal weights attached and you're asked which direction the greatest tension will be.

You should know that the pulley would tend to exert more tension on the side with the greatest weight. That is a typical example of mechanical psychometric test.

Scenario 2: you are given some sets of gears arranged and you are told the direction in which one of the gears rotates, and then you are asked the direction other gears would rotate.

This is how the mechanical questions look like.
