Everywhere you go, people hold their phones in their hands even when they have absolutely no need for it and the phones would be safer being in their pockets or bags?

Is it some kinda show-off? Cause I could swear this act is more common amongst iPhone users. Are they trying to make a statement? “Oh see the phone I use? I’m not doing too bad”

One thing I’ve noticed is that you’ll hardly find people with broken-screen phones or an entry-level smartphone holding them in their hands this way.

I overheard a Bet9ja boy narrating to his coworker how the respect he gets from folks in his neighborhood has skyrocketed because he now uses an iPhone 13.

Is it a Nigerian thing? Or na so dem dey do world over?

If it's not in a bag or something, I think it's safer in my hands even though inconvenient. Lost a phone because of pocket things. I don't have low self-esteem

I can't forget the day I kept my phone in my pocket while in a bus. They removed the phone from my pocket, I noticed immediately I got down but the bus zoomed off. Another thing is that ur phone can easily slip off when u sit down and u won't know. Since then it is safer in my hand than in my pocket. It is only if I am with a bag then I can put it inside since I usually go to work with a back bag.

Here in Awka, it's more safe to hold your phone on your hand than pocket because of very professional thieves.

Its more convenient in the hands. I us an itel torch light phone, yet i hold it in my hands, to every where i go.

By 3021, things like that will be happening down here but not now that the introduction of handset isn't up to 50years
