Nineteen dollars is much but I suppose the dollar card is safer than these fly by night virtual cards who will mug you if you use their card to pay for something but end up getting refunded as their selling rate and the buying rates are wide of each other. I trust Barter but unfortunately they are not active anymore

Olamaki remember I told you before GT Bank told me their fee was about $20 well, they didn't lie, I just ran away and called for my many friends and their cards and of course you know the rest of the story!

I had a debit alert from GTB for 10 dollars

If yes, how long did it take you from eine of request and how much were you debited?

Not really,I got my GTB dollar card, got some dollars from an aboki and did some shopping yesterday.

I got the card whithin an hour of walking into the bank and the 10 dollars annual fee was deducted when I credited the card with dollars.You do need I.D ,proof of address and a passport photograph.

Mine has been 5 working days and no show. Went to the bank yesterday and was told there are delays with printing dollar card.
Plus the lady mentioned I'll be debited $13 for it.

[color=#0000ff]Dollar cards are not always available cuz I learnt they allot it based on some factors. Dollar card isn't like Naira cards - more expensive to print, so, demand must be there. If you opened at state HQ, you shouldn't experience delay. [/color]

I really don't understand why people go for these virtual cards when you can just open a bank dollar account buy dollars ,deposit in it and use it as you would a normal account. Am I missing something.

I don't see reason to go and buy dollar at black market rate and deposit to make purchase and still be charged 10 dollars for annual fee when my yearly purchase may not be up to 100 Dollars.

I rather get a virtual card that I can buy the needed dollar when the need arises and make my purchases.
