Given the importance of gas in today's energy mix, Nigeria needs a gas exploration law different from the petroleum industry law.

No state should accept any 13% from the Nigerian state. It's either 50% or we restructure the country and everyone will manage their natural resources.

I think the government and their cronies are doing some clandestine stuff with the exploration of gas in Imo State and that's part of the reason for the strange insurgency around the Orlu area. Remember that's around the area where most of the deposits were discovered. Looks to me like they want to empty those areas of their human quantity to avoid confrontations in the future. Uzodimma is also part of the whole show.

They are largely untapped gas reserves, but oil and gas majors are moving into the state to harness it now. Shell and Seplat are already building their gas plants in the state.

There are other ethnic groups in Ondo State, the oil in Ondo State is found on Ijaw land, no part of Yoruba land have oil.
