My Dog seems to have Multiple Boils in the Scrotum Area and he keeps licking, please see the pictures below

What can be the possible cause and how can I cure this

It's not boil. Your pooch has the bot fly infestation.


Those "boils" are actually the larva of the fly.


Ensure your dog takes regular baths, keep it away from sand, beach sand, moist areas (like under cars)

jes press the larva out, you are exposing ur dog to too much flies, I would advise u buy Tick&fly spray

there’s maggot there press it out, check the body too there might be others

Thanks for your response, here is what I did

I put vaseline at the tip of the boil, this suffocated the bot Fly and made it come out for air, I then pressed the bottom of the skin below the infection and used a spatula to pull the Bot Fly out, then rubbed spirit on the wound to prevent any further infection

Yeah we usually press them out when it's due if we don't want to inject the doggo. Didn't mention that so you won't go pressing the ones that are not ripe.


So chief just keep the dog clean and avoid damp grounds. Take good care of yourself and your pooch. Wishing you the very best

This isn't boil,this is myiasis (maggots from flies). Ensure you remove all by pressing it because most times two maggots can be present on a spot then, add healing oil to the spot where they're remove (healing oil kills the larvae).
