Few years ago, I personally employed 3 guys in their late 20s from this said town working in my animal farm at ilora just 50 naira bike from ilu aje.
Ilora that the Op called bankless is just 5 minutes drive from Oyo town and most of its houses almost mixing up with oyo because they share boundary.
Now farm produce that they export from ilora weekly can feed the whole oyo state and that town is blessed with several multi millionaires and off course electricity, market, good houses and big churches (85% are Christian)
Now ilu aje is notoriously known for their JuJu practice so most of their youth stylishly claim ilora instead and reside there and oyo town because of civilization.
There's nothing you want in Oyo town that's not available or what do you expect from a place that have 5 higher institutions, a first class king and historical legacy.

Mehn, if you were born and bred in the city, you don't know what God has done for you.

I'm sure INEC has at least 1 polling unit in this area. Still nothing to show for it. I'm 1000% sure politicians ply those roads during campaign promising heaven on earth but after been elected, nothing to show for it.

How is that worse than someone coming all the way from Abagana, passing through several states, to come and be claiming Lagosian and that Lagos is 'no man's land?'

What corruption has not done to Nigeria doesn't exist.

Small towns need good access roads, electricity, internet facilities, standard schools and healthcare centers, and libraries.

I think Anambra, Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Rivers, and Akwa Ibom states have some of the best rural road networks for small town communities in Nigeria, but development is far from Nigeria in general due to corruption.

I'm not surprised. My NYSC was the first time I saw communities where a lot of young men didn't know any word in English. In Ogun State. I thought such things only occur in the far North. Even my late grandma spoke pidjin

They have a representative. We need to do investigative journalism like this and shame the representative in charge of the LGA. This is the problem I have with the media. When they showed some students sitting on the floor at Ogun State...the Labs for that particular school was renovated by an association I am part of...St Kizitos...the Ogun State Govt provided desks and chairs within a week. We need more investigative journalism. Force them to do right by the people by shaming them to do so.

Honestly it's true, even the area am staying people are suffering of ordinary drinking water, Ajagba community opposite Oyo east secretariat. Honestly government representatives should look into that.

Any day one Okoro goes there and opens a shop, brings in his Igbo relatives to learn trade in the shop and expand their businesses in the area, you will begin to hear some Omo ales taunt Igbo people there: return to your erosion ravaged southeast.
