I am in my mid 20's, I do things solely on my own financially. I work in a company with a take home monthly pay of 70k and at the same time I'm running a part time program for my National Diploma, I'm in my ND2 now.
So I planned to quite my job by December and process a direct entry into a Federal University to get a BSc, I planned to save enough money to pay my bills during the course of schooling and I can still work during vacation as I am highly skilled in the field, the skill is highly sort for all over the country. But I'm confused on either to still keep my Job and further my Education when I make enough money and have a business of my own.
Please I need advice.

Why can't you proceed to direct entry to NOUN and still continue your work?

A bird in hand is better than two in the bush. [/b]Keep your job and go to school online or in the evening. Never quit a job with the hope of getting a job after Education. A word is enough for the wise

Yes it is possible, that is what I do currently, I work and school, I'm just considering going to a university but then I won't be able to work except during vacation, as it would be full time.

Please don't leave your job, continue your job, finish your ND and take another partime BSC and continue...

The present Nigeria is very hard, the fact that your skill is always sought for doesn't mean you should leave your job..

The question you need to ask yourself is, how many graduate are earning what you are earning now?

If some graduate get that your salary, he or she will be there for a very long time...

Outside is hard my brother...

I earn 200plus bit is still not enough to cater for me, with and my only daughter....

Think twice

A good job should give you a good education.

Education in the modern world is less about paper qualification and more about practical skills- the kind you get from work experience.

Except of course you are an academic , then you can keep pursuing degrees to brag about. But like I said those degrees are increasingly becoming worthless.( AI is not helping matters.) There are people who didn't go to school working at Google.

If you are getting an Education , let it be one that helps you to be more technically skilled and/or business savvy in the area of your current business. But never let it distract you from your business.

Guy nor let them go introduce you to Gnld abi neolife scam drug company oh.

Anyone who tell you to come buy food supplements drugs or whatever, insult them before they will leave you. They are leeches

My younger sister lost 150k last week buying their worthless drugs and now she’s looking for how to collect her money back.

While she planned to use the money to startup a trade she has learnt,She has to start trekking under the hot sun and start looking for who will buy drugs just to get back her money

Why choose when you can have the two? You can work and study. Go for Unilag DLI, your experience prior to graduation will be a great plus.

I was once in your shoe.. A production supervisor in a British owned company with many potentials, I left that to pursue my HND programme (because of intimidation from colleagues).. I felt HND instead of DE will be faster so I will be back in the system in no time but Nigeria happened to me, got my Kpali after four years.

In short, that will have been the dumbest move in my life but The Creator came to my aid and bless my skills...

If you have a good background and connection you can easily rely on... go for the DE else look for pt programme and stick to your job..

There is no permanent routine in life, life can be very surprising

Your post is confusing.

Getting your B.Sc is very important.

Unfortunately, we still live in a country where a degree from Mono/Polytechnics aren't highly rated.

Worse still, you've only got your ND...No HND yet.

You may be getting by on 70k today, but even then, that amount of money is insufficient in our current clime.

But do you know in the next 3 years, you'll either be jobless or earning no more than 100k if you don't further your education? Why? Most of the leading organisations don't accept give preference to holders of bachelor's

Yes, you may have the skills, but as long as paid employment is concerned, skills aren't written on the forehead. Your profile has to meet certain minimum requirements before you'll be given a chance to demonstrate skillfulness.

Since you say you've got skills, then take the education as just a degree-acquiring venture. So don't commit your whole time to the degree pursuit. Just do your best to graduate with at least a 2:2.

...And also because you need not invest your whole time in the degree, you can still continue working, just so you have a continued experience and earning whatever you can earn.

Don't do part-time. It's such a painful stretch, what with ASUU & all. Get the full-time over and done with as quickly as possible.

But by all means, get your degree. It's important.

Things are hard
Being in school and schooling is very expensive

Why not save enough money to sponsor yourself without hoping on any one

Money have no value again
So save more than enough before making any attempts

Weldone I appreciate the way you are struggling and the efforts that you are making

Highly sought after and 70k in the same sentence, you must be high.

Don't leave your job bro, I school in a Federal University and I work too, but of them are full time, it's stressful, yes but worth it as you have a reliable backup plan should incase one of them fails you.

Keep your stuff going, there's nothing outside, I don't know your morality level, but making a lot of money requires some levels of immorality, so I suggest you keep your birds in your hands.

This is really nice.
I took the same decision around February 2021, returned back to university through DE.
I get to work during vacation and save enough to cater my Bill through the semester.
Trust me, that's the best option and I don't get to regret taking that decision.

Don't make that silly mistake of quiting your job to further education. Do both together.

Many B.sc even MSc holders can't boast of 70k monthly in this present Nigeria.

Please continue both. God will see you through!

Thank you sir.
