"Comrade Adams Oshiomhole we know you, we know your worth, we know you can deliver, there is nothing that you say here we don't know, we trust you , we know you very well, trusting that Otuo would deliver you.

Our son here has also come with you , we would deliver him. I commit all of you to the hands of our ancestors , they would grant you success."

Those were the soothing words of HRH Uzoyare Julius Ojeabuo, the Ovie of Otuo, (Obokhiome the 4th of Otuo Kingdom) when former Edo State Governor Comrade Adams Oshiomhole went to see the monarch to seek his Royal blessings for his Edo North Senatorial ambition.

Oshiomhole, who went alongside his campaign team, was humbled by the warm welcome he received from the people of Otuo and the Ovie of Otuo.

In continuation of his Ward to Ward tour for the APC in the upcoming general elections, the deputy DG of the APC Presidential Campaign Council stopped at the palace before beginning his electoral campaigns in Otuo, which began with a town hall meeting with the prestigious "Otuo Union" before proceeding to other wards in Otuo.

In his remarks, Oshiomhole expressed gratitude to his Highness for the wonderful welcome, recognition, and trust shown to him. He also pledged to keep his word and took the chance to highlight some of the things he had accomplished for Otuo while he was the State Governor, even appointing their son,Pally Iriase, as Secretary to the State Government.

He also took advantage of the occasion to rally support for APC presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming elections.

The Royal Prayers for Adams Oshiomhole, the APC House of Assembly Candidate,Eric Okaka and the Director General of the Tinubu Campaign Organization in Edo North, Abu Millionaire, were the event's high point.

Otuo is one of the major towns in Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State, Nigeria.

Oshiomole is the loved politician in Edo state. Way better than the effigy we have as governor now. Our anger with him is, since he joined the party that has brought untold hardship to Nigerians, he became something else. You can't act God to the average Edo man. We don't need a political jugganut who will be telling us who to vote for and who not to vote for

There's something seriously wrong with traditional rulers endorsing candidates. What happens if Mr Oshiomhole loses? You start off on a wrong footing with the person that gets sworn into office. You ought to be royal father to all. The Oba of Benin would not do this.

Makes me recall the report yesterday about two chiefs being linked with the train station kidnapping and getting arrested in Igueben - probably just because they're "opposition".

How comes they are using Ovie instead of oba in edo north . I thought Ovie is been used by urhobo and isoko alone. Though I know we urhobo migrated from Edo

He will surely win in his senatorial district, because he has done a lot for Edo people at large and I believe the people knows that... Since he left as governor of the state this is the first time he's coming out to contest for elective position in his state, he will be elected.

Ovie is an Edoid word. Most Edoid related group use Ogie. Urhobo/Isoko being the largest popularized the word that doesn't mean other group doesn't make use of it.

Oba is no way Edoid, has no root whatsoever. Ogie/Ovie means leader/head/king.
