is this not that weird horror movie? I saw the trailer some years ago, I was wondering who could watch it.
For real! The theme of the movie should be weird, not horror. I didn’t see anything in the movie for it to be classified as horror.

Lol, it's not my favourite horror movie.

It's a very weird movie like Aflix said and I don't see it as everyone's cup of tea. It's definitely gonna turn off most especially people who ain't familiar with that sort of trope and theme.
It's one of the weirdest horror films I've ever watched. When I was done watching it sef I was like what the fvvk did I watch. 😃
But the writing, directing and the acting most especially as well as the story as it's very different sets it apart from the rest. It's also prolly the movie that brought Florence Pugh to the limelight. Since it's from A24, there's a huge possibility of being mindfvvked. 😁😀
The weirdness of the film and why it's a townhall different from Bulaba is why it's mostly in top recommendations.

I wouldn't really recommend to anyone who isn't deep into horror movies and arthouse flicks.
Boss, I see the movie as just weird. I think they tried too hard to make it “artsy”.

That's your point of view tho,if you don't like hereditary, you won't enjoy this movie. But I absolutely enjoyed watching the movie, its idea of horror was enthralling and I was hooked from beginning to end. You won't enjoy it because you may not understand its concept and style. Weird is not bad but original
Midsommar is a 9/10 for me. Cant wait for the next Ari Aster movie Beau something
I just finished hereditary, and it’s way better than midsommar. Hereditary, at least has elements of horror and a story in it. A story though not easy to understand,(ending especially)!but a story nonetheless.

PS: The only reason I think midsommar “enthralling” is because it makes one think that sense would be made, eventually of the whole weirdness which makes you hang on and try to figure it out yourself till the end only to end up disappointed.

M3GAN (2023).....7

Nothing I haven't seen before but engaging nevertheless.
The child actress impressed.

Midsommar 4:/10

A very weird movie that I think its primary aim is showing a culture of the Swedish people. It does this pretty well (don’t know if the depictions are accurate) without following it up with a compelling story to balance things. The movie gives a sense of something better to come, so you hang on, expectantly lipsrsealed only to end up disappointed at the end.

Everything about this movie is weird and I wouldn’t recommend it. The sex scene is something I have never seen. I have not been able to phantom it till today.

I wouldn’t advise anyone to go watch.

Love this movie.
Highly recommend.

Easy win in my opinion.

As in.... You know the drill.

A24 is like the HBO of movies. They rarely miss. Only A24 film I've been bummed about was The Green Knight. The rest has been masterclasses.

Ari Aster is surely one director you can't joke with his films. This doesn't really look like the horror fare Aster is used to with films like Midsommar and Hereditary. It's looking like Everything Everywhere All At Once but with darker themes.

If A24 wins Best Picture with EEAAO, I'd be super excited. It's a complete underdog story.
The shocking thing about Aster's movies is the complexity of his movies and people can still understand and enjoy it nonetheless, he's like the Christopher Nolan of Horror Movies- complex and still understandable and interesting

It's not an artsy movie in any sense.
It's a folk horror with a scandinavian flavor.

Oyaskii this is proudly sponsored by Netflix.... grin grin

WoW grin 16 norms! shocked... Apologies to Netflix, like i said the other day, i was a tad a bit harsh in bashing them.

They are definitely going to win some, if for anything, "All quiet on the western front" is a great contender for Best foreign language film since "Decision to Leave" wasn't nominated.

Oh...not necessarily the strongest line up for "Best Picture" in years and in the context of things, it's is the most deserved of the award.

And someone will take this stupid award serious... 🤨🙃

When I saw Elvis and Tom Hanks nominated for Razzies 2023, I knew it was shït and pining for attention.

Funny how some movies has been nominated for the Razzies as well as Oscars.
Examples?

Joker
The Godfather III

lol It's a parody award but they have got some of the awards spot on over the years.

Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Seunpaul01(m): 9:20am On Jan 26, 2023
Okay

There are two movies I'm kinda finding it hard to read meanings to...believe me, I enjoyed them. I just couldn't fathom their messages.

1. The Menu &

2. Everything Everywhere All at once.

I could understand that number 2 was trying to portray a kind of invisible war we fight in our mind or thoughts. A kind of fights that goes on in a troubled mind to accept some new or old situations or circumstances. You know

And number 1 is just the hardest to read meaning to. Like, how did she escape not being cooked like others. Fine, she took charge like a customer should when a service is being rendered to her, got her food ordered her way and was allowed to leave. Others could have followed her way and do the same but didn't. Also, it seems the chef was trying to punish the invited guests or let say, tourists, on their untrustworthy behavior. But why die with them.

Please, share the message you think these amazing movies were trying to pass. Let's learn.

That movie is something else. Makes one wonder just how evil man will be to his fellow man, if there are no rules guiding the activities of man.

And that is exactly what the movie explores. What will man do when there are no laws limiting his most extreme tendencies?
