The New notes will still be stocked in large numbers as well in few years from now if government think this is the only way to fight against corruption while courts in Nigeria set free politicians when they face corruption charges.

You stole #9b and court would ask you to pay option fine of #100m .

If we all think these politicians would not have gotten the new notes in large number by now , then we lying to ourselves. People that their banks take cash to them in their comfort homes.

The main idea of the redesign is for this feb. Quick solution to a larger problem. We will takd that for now.

The funny thing is that, while this is sticking corrupt politicians to some extent, it also has an effect on the everyday masses, because there is now scarcity.

You know why there is sacarcity? Because banks are not releasing the new notes.

You know why banks aren't releasing the new notes? Because they carried a significant amount of those notes to some politician's house.

The problem with this country is dirty corruption on every level, and weak, useless institutions that bow to the whims of a few.

this situation is different. This time around, nobody will take bullion van of new note to his house

I laugh.
Those who have bulk old notes at home have already exchanged it at the banks.
Managers have given them new notes after removing their cuts.

You guys should continue clapping for Buhari,

When buhari closed borders u guys were clapping, the result only affect the common man.

Now he change Naira note, the result will only affect the common man.

Incase u don't know the people he target this move to have nothing to loose.

From nextweek buying and selling will become very difficult, means of transportation will be difficult, where will you see the new note to pay motorist, what time do u have to make transfer, how convenient conductor will be using POS when passenger will be in hurry not to late to work, combining this with holdup.

Una eye go soon open what this barbarian is abt to throw the whole country to.
I wonder how Tinubu boys will be collecting money from conductors

When you have the kind of monumental corruption as the type in Nigeria, you have to pay the price to end it
This move will even add to the corruption. Those big politicians are the ones buying up the new naira notes now and making it scarce. In fact the bankers will take the money to the big men.

How will it affect the common man. My Common Man only needs to simply take his cash to a bank and pay into his account
take which cash?even the bank's will stop collecting the old notes after the deadline or what are you thinking?if you feel it will affect any politician then you are gullible, politicians have friends heading several banks, all they need do is make calls. Why do you think the new notes are not circulating? Politicians all have the new notes already, let's stop thinking with our anus

He say na involving. Olodo.
I doubt you have ever travelled out in your entire life.
In other countries, they still do lots of cash transactions.
The UK is introducing a new note, they have spread the period of change over some years.
You are here talking trash.

the current queue at the banks is one of the way it's affecting a common man. The new notes are scarce till now just a day to it's invalidity, an yet to touch the 200 and 500 version. This is unusual unlike the 1984 and other exchanges I have witnessed
I have not even touched any of the new notes, but Nigerians no dey reason normal. They should ask why the new note is not in circulation...Politicians were the first set of people to have the new note.If you think it will ever affect tinubu,it's a big lie

You miss the point bro. This sudden move is the best thing the CBN has ever done because now it has made money laundering difficult and has boxed politicians and corrupt elements in a corner. If you bring large volumes of cash for swap, the banks are under obligation to report to NFIU and that singular move has put the person on the spot. What it means is that for a corrupt politician you are already giving the opponents material to institute a court case against you because moving with large wads of cash already contravenes the AML act which will be easily linked to vote buying, and if they decide to even use online channels it leaves an audit trail which will be traced to the politician.
This is good abeg.

Bankers evacuate old notes and return with new notes after removing their cuts.
Some bankers are making 15M per day on this new note deal.

I wanted to collect just #5000 this morning. The ATMs are not working and the POS man said he could only give #2000 for a #200 charge.

I laugh at your naivety. You have a good mind but you're not realistic.
If you have friends within the banking space, just ask them how this cash swap thing is going.

If they had so much there won't be outcry from them as we're seeing today. They have funds that if they release it now would cause inflation.

Countries don't just wake up redesign their currency because it involves a significant cost

Whilst reasons for redesign are numerous; in the case of Nigeria, Corruption is pandemic and a big problem. Corrupt and wicked Nigerians have stocked large amounts of cash outside the official financial system

One of aims of the current redesign exercise in Nigeria is obviously to tackle the issue of corruption by corrupt people who settle their corruption activities in cash

To extend the deadline will give these rogues more time to come up with ways to circumvent the redesign and therefore defeat the aim of the exercise.

Stop typing anyhow. The purpose is to make APC a very catastrophic party then return the power to north through Atiku. Tinubu will still win we are tired of the northern aristocrats who only believe in almajiri system to maintain poverty

Guys please, reject the old note NOW and people would sit-up.

Before I buy something I emphasize they give me change in new notes (if they agree we proceed).

But please CBN, release more of the N200 notes for people like me, the common citizen.

People that get dollars from CBN are those you think will be affected by this. I laugh.

Are the newly designed currencies in circulation? Don't you know the extension is for people like you? Do you think even if the deadline was just for a week, do you think it will affect the rich?
