These urchins will compare anything in this world. You don't eat, your country is being taken over by terrorists, your economy is in shambles, you can't even produce tissue paper you use to wipe yansh and heck you don't even have a country yet you are talking about infrastructure with America that is an established country.

good you admited everyone has his own opinion, so respect others opinion without insulting.

Obi was only being honest when he made that statement. At least we should give him credit for speaking his truth. Ask yourself how many legacy projects/infrastructure he left behind as governor? To Mazi Peter Obi, it's better or makes more sense to 'save' whatever funds are meant for infrastructural development at Fidelity bank than spend it on critical infrastructure. His antecedents as governor reflect that mindset. His presidency (God forbid) would be as uneventful as his tenure as governor. God abeg o.

Former vice president is it a profession? Obi was also a former governor. But he knows that is not a profession

in a country with untapped potentials and easy opportunities wasting and begging to be exploited you choose to save??
Thats short sightedness.

Imagine if fashola had saved money used in building lekki toll gate, hell be proud about it. The media would applauded it but then again, the direct and Indirect employment the lekki toll gate revenue has generated at a little expense of ease free task would be misses.
Lagos savings would be high but igr would be low.
In Nigeria, saving should be discouraged completely.

Oga context is KEY. Share the entire video.

The point he has always made is that Nigeria needs to pull about 140 million out of poverty and so we do not have the leverage to throw away money on infrastructure that does not promote production. Thats the point.

US is trying to maintain its hold as the No 1 economy in the world, while Nigeria is trying to pull over 60% of its population out of poverty. What are your prioritieshuh

Thats the difference.

And then if this is the case, why is investment in infrastructure one of the cardinal pivots of his manifesto? Borrow and build infrastructure that can make enough money to pay back the debt!
Re: Between Trader Obi And US President. by JOemmy(m): 12:27am On Jan 30, 2023
Most Us citizens are enlightened, educated and are not extremely poor like nigerians. If u focus on only building infrastructures in nigeria without building the human beings that will use the infrastructures they will definitely vandalize or steal the infrastructures to survive. There's absolutely no basis for the comparism.

It is said that Buhari did extremely well as he did a lot of infrastructure investments.

Obviously that means the Nigerian economy must be doing well.

Gerara here!!!!

All these people that haven't quite graduated from Almajiri schools and sharing economic opinions. You had the past 8 years ago to display your superior economic knowledge, but failed woefully.

Obi is obviously right. And context is everything

I no blame you. I can't argue with you cos even if obi had said that infrastructure drive economic growth, you'll still come here to justify it.

You have not been able to prove Obi wrong.

If infrastructure is what drives the economy, why is the current Nigerian economy in the doldrums, when Buhari has invested heavily in infrastructures?

You have to answer the above question before you can blame Obi for making a false statement.

Obi obviously knows that infrastructures alone, cannot bring about a booming economy. Other variables must be taken into consideration before the economy starts looking up.

The current Buhari government that prides itself on its infrastructural investments, is all the prood that Obi needs.

I would have loved to engage you if you did ask the question in the first place without using derogatory words like alamjiri to hide your educational deficit.
Like I said, if obi had said otherwise, you'll still justify it. Why would I attempt to liberate a man who has chosen to become slave to his own sentiment.

Do enjoy your show of personal victory, you'll beat me hands down in your court of justice if I educationally engage you. I'll rather walk.

You just created a thread, with the intention of showcasing Obi as economically ignorant. Now that I burst you bubble by offering an example of a country that invests in infrastructure, yet the economy is fvcked up, you are offended that I used the word ALMAJIRI, in making my point clear.

Perhaps, if you hadn't made an attempt to make Obi an economic caricature, I wouldn't have used Almajiri to describe your economic knowledge.

Bottom line is that Obi has an example to give to butress the point he was making. Secondly we are not even very clear on the context he was making that point. But considering the face value of that statement, he has a country to use an an instance.
