The main plan is to keep an eye on Tinubu and his cohorts. Lol. Money inducement will not work this time. |

gimakon:There's no country in the World, where the currency will be change in just 3 month Not even in small Sweden or UK which are both smaller than Nigeria in terms of land mass and the population. The Cashless policy have been existing before Emefiele became the Gov., there's a reason the policy have not kick off in full and some of the reasons have not even been tackle yet. The new notes have not circulate well, but people like you see no problem with that. A lot of ATMs in Lagos no even get the new notes during the weekend, if there is scarcity of the new notes in Lagos, don't you imagine how e go choke for some LG areas that do not have a single bank? You're not even thinking about the anarchy this will lead to when people can't withdraw money or when their old money useless for them hand? India did something like this under Modi, it affected the India Economy negatively for 4 quarters. This policy does not make sense, The old nairas can't be deposited in banks in 3 month and the new notes can't spread all over Nigeria in 3 months In sane countries, they don't fix a deadline for when the old notes can be return. Even though a new ₦100 note was introduce when we were celebrating Nigerian centenary, did the Government announce the old ₦100 will be phase out? Abeg think of the economy consequence.this will lead to all over Nigeria. If the banks keep on paying the old notes over the counter, and there is still scarcity of the new notes all over Nigeria, the policy will still have to be extended. |

Itisallright:if the government stood on that 31st deadline the country may collapse into anarchy because there is no new notes available, the method we solve problems in this country is a case of throwing away the dirty water with the baby, soap and sponge included, how do you want to stop vote buying, corruption and kidnapping by redesigning your currency?how do you want to fight kidnapping and banditry by switching off telcom signal?is it a big deal for the politicians to convince with bank official and use payloader and tipper to load the old cash they stockpiled in warehouses to exchange for the new ones, don't be surprised this is what is making the new notes scarce,I read a report that out of 11 trillion naira cash in Nigeria 7 trillion are hoarded and not in circulation only 4 trillion is moving about,so you see that the scarcity will continue and majority of these politicians are board members of many banks and financial institutions. |

EnterpriseMan:You overcame poverty and you are this bitter. Rich person no get time for stupid hatred. You dey deceive yourself, instead of you to put up your account make we give you some money to survive, you dey cap yourself as rich person. Dey play ooo You dey lie to yourself..::Poverty still sinks and oozes out of your soul. You are totally damaged by poverty and hatred. It’s obvious. Because you are poverty personified don’t put your frustration on me.

MajorOvakporaye:You really think scarcity of new naira notes will affect Tinubu? 😁🤦🏼♀️ Most of these politicians loot in foreign currencies ,they know naira has no value . Ordinary men and women , traders and small time entrepreneurs are the ones that will be affected. Tinubu has the whole Yoruba region ready to vote for him , if he can get some votes from the Hausa regions , he's definitely going to win . He doesn't need to buy anything . And I'm an obidient , but one with sense and in touch with reality .

justmondris:I told a pos agent why is he doing that, and he said, I move from one branch atm to another to get new notes with bike. So how do recover my expenses |
| Re: New Notes: CBN To Monitor Banks' Vaults by Neoteny7: 8:16am On Jan 30, 2023 |
It's actually stupidly simple: banks are holding on to cash to prevent runs on the banks as panicked customers flock to withdraw whatever they can to hold on to for dear life. Also, the POS operators are contributing to the problem. Some of them repatriate old notes and sell the new ones for a significant margin, and queue back up to deposit the old notes in the banking hall, then withdraw new notes at the ATM to keep the cycle going. I've also noticed a curious, almost fetishist, attraction Nigerians have for the new notes. It's almost become a status symbol to acquire fresh new batches for admiration and posing. |

Go and work to earn money and stop constituting nuisance on Nairaland. Your poverty still remains! MajorOvakporaye:Have you finally killed your Aunty? You can’t be this hateful and not have problems.

yusuf0876:He is supposed to take the old notes to the bank. Not circulating it. It's wrong for POS to give u old notes. Just as it is wrong for banks to give u old notes. |
| Re: New Notes: CBN To Monitor Banks' Vaults by jeromestarks: 8:48am On Jan 30, 2023 |
justmondris:Imagine that. Nigerians are the ones making the nation difficult for their fellow citizens. |
| Re: New Notes: CBN To Monitor Banks' Vaults by jeromestarks: 8:51am On Jan 30, 2023 |
Parachoko:You lack understanding. POS is registered with a bank. They work under banks. CBN is trying to collect all the old notes. It's their job to return the old notes to banks and banks will return it to CBN. It's a stupid thing to keep circulating it. The extension is to make people return the money not to keep circulating it. |
| Re: New Notes: CBN To Monitor Banks' Vaults by Parachoko: 8:54am On Jan 30, 2023 |
jeromestarks:You're dumb Even banks still give people the old notes over the counter as at this morning, but a dumb thing like you feel the POS should not dispense old notes again No go deposit your old cash for bank yourself Mugu!! |

| Re: New Notes: CBN To Monitor Banks' Vaults by JAYUK(m): 9:44am On Jan 30, 2023 |
The bank vaults are empty of these new notes, the new notes are loaded in all the ATMs once received, Nigerians are quick to assert on things they cannot defend when called upon, branches do not have the required cash for the ATMs let alone branch managers having a field day as alledged. Go and collect your PVCs and prepare to vote wisely. |
