No...
Russia's assumption of Europe freezing has been put to shame.

Is Russian Ruble now worthless?
No....
The whole NATO and their allies of over 35 countries including the Giants (USA, UK, Germany and France) has been shown the Russians are far superior and powerful than they assumed.... The Ruble is the best-performing currency of the decade.

My takeaway from this is that, no one can stop you if you're ready to be successful at any cost.

I hope the war end soon, but it seems it will only get worse and worse till there's no longer a country called Ukraine.... By then Russia will be like North Korea, they will be completely avoided.

I believe the only way to deal with Russia is to win his allies over, China and India...: without that, the sanction won't have a strong effect.

Off course Russia is a dying power. In 10 years, they will weak militarily as UK. Now is their best time and they are using it right now. So laughs on west.

West can't win over China and India. Both these countries have and produce endless human resources and industrial equipment which can exhaust western powers even leading to western territories getting conquered by them. In fact, west itself runs on production of China and India and can't do without these two countries.

Total national power = Income x population. That is why in year 1950 itself, world was always vary of China & India when they were far poorer than US & Russia. Coz when these two will reach normal economic levels, they will be too powerful to be messed up by richest western countries. That time has already arrived in 2010s. In next 30 years of 21st century, China and India will replace current world powers just like US & Soviet did in 20th century.

Ode, is the French economist Better or Knows more than the world bank or the IMF that place the German economy ahead of Russian economy,
I am trying to agure with you, it is a fact that German economy is not only the bigger than Russia but that it is the largest in the Europe
Your proof is a Frenchman speculation, when did a single man now determine the GDP of a nation, a single economist subjective opinion doesn't hold,
Stupidity at its peak.

Winning over Russia's allies would be very very Difficult, if not Impossible for several (historical) reasons. MoreOver, Russia has much more raw materials other parts of the world needs. (Cheap) crude oil is just a part of it.
NATO consists of 30-countries, while EU consists of 27-countries, bringing that to a total of 57-countries struggling to fight just a single Country called Russia. of course there may be few other countries in support of NATO & EU even though they ain't a member themselves .

India, China, Russia, etc are more of PRODUCERs than CONSUMERs hence they could afford to be self Reliant. Even the things they IMPORT, they could decide to produce them locally. Nigeria suppose dey this list but we understand how far.

Most (if not all) WESTERN countries especially NATO & EU member countries are more of CONSUMERs than PRODUCERs. The WEST over time, managed to intelligently position it's self in a way to leach of off others but this conflict has made them loose such grip.

Seems I now understand why Russia choose to take the slow route in this conflict. They really learnt a lot from the other SACTION imposed on them.

and you know what, other Countries are learning, and with the stance Russia has taken, soon enough, Western SANCTIONs would have very little to no relevance to any country again. Imagine Seizing all Russia's foreign reserves, it's like having your bank account frozen and all properties you own taken away from you without the slightest care how you gonna survive. They wanted to further Punish Russia like they did earlier but this time around, it backFired.

The next couple of years would be very interesting though

Pls explain how NATO is struggling to fight Russia.
Besides NATO ain't fighting Russia, giving weapons to a country ain't new,no be today he start.
During the viteham war, the soviets supported and gave weapons to the north, are we going to say the soviets were fighting the USA in Vietnam?
Or when the soviets invaded Afghanistan and the USA gave weapons to the mujahedeen. Was the USA and the soviets fighting each other,
Trust me if the Russian were in a direct confrontation cry with NATO forces a NATO flag will be flying in Moscow in later than 2 years.

If you understand economics you won't create a thread like this.

Let me explain this to you in a simple way.

The truth is Europe can not freeze.
Whenever you hear things like that Know that it is propaganda. But thinking of it as propaganda without being logical is also wrong, instead look at the bigger picture: Europe is the 3rd richest continent on the planet, that simply means they are rich and Russia was their biggest gas supplier before this hostilities in Ukraine.
Russia gas has been known for being cheap compared to other competitors in the market, which helped the continent's industrial market to remain one of the best in the world.

The absence of Russian gas to Europe will not make the continent freeze, instead it will result to an Economic Downturn.
Let's use Germany who was the biggest importer of Russian gas in Europe.
Since import of gas from the rus has been halted due to the war in Ukraine and the sabotage of the NS2. Germany has been importing LNG from the u.s in an astronomical price (3-4time the amount of the Russians), this is why the German economy is heading towards recession. Soaring inflation will lead to high cost of living and will lead to numerous protest and civil unrest. Although the Germans are trying so hard to keep inflation low but it's still widely visible.
If this continues many big companies in Europe will have to move to the u.s which will be bad for the European economy.

Note: what is happening to Germany is happening to almost all the European countries at the moment.

The u.s thought sabotage of Russia exports of gas to Europe will easily destroy the Russian economy, unfortunately they where wrong because they found new customers who where ready to buy from them.
The main reason that Russia economy was resilient was because of the support they got from the saudis (OPEC+) involving pumping enough gas which will result in depreciation of the price.
