We’ve spent close to 30M just to get to this level and i thought the amount we shoud spending for finishing (POP, tiles, Gate, compound interlock, kitchen fixing, smart house, painting, bathroom and bathroom equipment) shouldn’t be up to 5M.

But i got the shocker of my life when i got a Bill of 35M for the finishing!

Pleasee, are things that costly? Is finishing really that expensive?

I will be glad if i can get contributions before i run mad or abandon this project or sell it as distress

Question: How many bedroom duplex is the building... Did your engineer gave you a detailed quote for all this or you just assumed the cost.

35 million is too much for Finnising of your building.

Finishing almost always cost more than the skeletal work. So, I will say you need an equal or a little more for the finishing. Automation there is quite expensive though, dont see any level of automation that will run into such amount yet.

Yes, i got a detailed quote but it got me wondering and thinking for over 1 week till date.

This is not inclusive of the interior after this finishing which involves Chairs, wardrobes, Bed , Tvs, AC and coooooo

Things are terribly expensive now. I like as the engineer told you to get the materials yourself as that's what I tell my clients these days

Yesterday, a client of.mine went to buy iron as I told him to get, he called me on.phone and was lamenting. I gave him the quotation when a ton of 16mm was #285,000 ( just about a month ago), as at yesterday, he bought a ton of 16mm #340k.

People don't know the disaster this useless government has brought.upon Nigeria.

I would like to know where is the location of this site(State) because even the #30M you spent for building a 5 bedroom duplex is also on the high side except probably you built on a swampy terrain or you did piling for it.............


Now as regards getting a quote of #35M for the things you've listed out its best you seek out another quotation from elsewhere you may be surprised

Depends on topography, and result of soil test as well as mechanical design requirements. Otherwise, there might be some exaggeration.

Funniest thing, we got every single things ourselves

We sourced directly from dealers, from the roofing to cements, we even got cements directly from the depot.

Oh yes, building takes time. It is a project you can not allow to hinder your normal standard of living. Enjoy the process of building, it is like birthing a design and seeing it come to pass. Enjoy the process, enjoy having new information about construction and do not allow your mind stay on how to source for financing. It is always when we enjoy the process and visualizing the perfect completed project in our minds that the Universe manifest sources to complete it.

Lmao! No Chief. Left it since till I finally figure what I want.

It's a 4/5 bedroom duplex with gym, closet,laundry room, office and a big library/Office room, 8 toilet/bathroom.

It got to the finishing stage and I felt it was too big. My taste changed to something simpler.

I am yet to make a decision whether I should sell it, continue it like that or turn it to several flats and rent it out.
