baralatie:That you think that Emefiele get the liver to act outside directives from PMB is hilarious. If he is acting on his own, why is he now reportedly meeting with PMB? |

Indispensable85:And Buhari is unaware of what is happening? |

biina:Is Buhari the CBN governor that tabled the idea the cash swap policy? Or is it Buhari that said cbn has capacity to print the new naira notes? |
| Re: Supreme Court Temporarily Halts Banning Of Old Naira Notes by Indispensable85(m): 5:01pm On Feb 08, 2023 |
kcnwaigbo:Lol.....is Buhari ever aware of anything? Somebody that said he never knew that the IG he mandated to go to Benue didn't go after weeks of the order. People are just taking advantage of the dullness of the man. I think everyone knows this by now. |

ufotunang:And if they really want to curb vote buying, they can then reinstate the 20k withdrawal limit whether for old notes or new notes, over the counter and in the ATMs till the election ends. |

Rubbiish:You must be opportuned to listen to and follow the news. 36 state governors are against the policy and stood, met, went to court because of it. https://guardian.ng/news/supreme-court-ruling-on-naira-re-design-saves-nigeria-from-economic-shutdown-tinubu/ You don't eat your nose to spite your face. It takes a height of self deceit or total ignorance for one to assume the PDP and LP doesn't have cash for vote buying. Or you are very young. Do you assume that politicians, not to talk of Atiku or Obi and state governors don't have access to new notes? You cannot compare ASUU strike to what is currently happening that indeed afects EVERYBODY. There are millions of Nigerians that have nothing to do with ASUU. On the other hand, ALL Nigerians deal with money. There are many millions unreached by banks. There are millions without bank accounts. You can imagine that you in the city with many ATMS and bank branches are struggling to change the money. Try to imagine what others are/have being going through. |

Jessewizy:I tell u bro. U remember the masses have been forced to deposit their old naira note abi......hmmmmm. If Nigerians like make them vote APC back to power, na them sabi ![]() |

Image123:Oga we all know what is going on Who are the governors that went to court? Even Atiku has clearly stated the deadline should not be extended & we know the reason buhari came up with this cashless policy, it is to curtail vote buying, but why are APC governors running from pillar to post? When did they start caring so much about the common man? This policy was suggested because of tinubu & APC members, u can see how restless they are, proving buhari right. If they have no fear this new naira is going to affect their vote buying capacity, they wouldn't be making so much noise. Let Nigerians bear this till 25th of this month, it is for our own good! |

Rubbiish:For your own good? i don't have time to argue commonsense. Watch Tinubu trounce you and your principal silly again and agin. Nuff said. |

Image123:Only those that align with tinubu are against this new policy? Why? This is the big question? What are u people so much afraid of? |
| Re: Supreme Court Temporarily Halts Banning Of Old Naira Notes by Image123(m): 7:56pm On Feb 08, 2023 |
Rubbiish:It means Tinubu will win by millions of votes because the suffering Nigerians including the IMF are against the madness. By your estimations, they are aligned with Tinubu. |

Image123:Senseless followers will always align with their master & that is what u all are doing. Hoping to buy votes with old notes. If that isn't case, why the so much fear among the APC camp as regards this new policy? |

edlion57:How does the action of the Governors and the Supreme Court judgement translate to fighting you and the people in the name of working for you? It is no more news that deadline stipulated for the cash swap as well as the overall implementation of the policy has left a lot to be desired and brought a lot of hardship upon the general populace. People are sleeping overnight at ATM sites, attacking banks and bankers, POS Operators are charging exhorbitant rates for cash withdrawals and riots are almost breaking out in multiple cities across the country. And you expect reasonable Governors to keep quiet when Buhari and Emefiele remain adamant? The Governors approached the Supreme Court with cogent arguments to warrant the suspension of the deadline and you now label that as working against the people? Which people? The people that are experiencing all these hardships or the ones in diaspora that are insulated? |

yemi1504:. They cannot curb vote buying the politicians are already with huge amount of the new naira notes in their house which they will use for voting buying...the MD of the banks are the one hoarding the new naira notes and secretly giving it to the politicians and collecting huge commission, bribe from the politicians |

Joevics:I don't call names. The way you appear in public is as a result of your twisted or upright upbringing. The SGF is trying to claim the case SHOULD be between CBN and states in which case it would be High court Jurisdiction. The governor rather sued the FG and not CBN in which case it has become a supreme court matter. Half education is worse than no education. We learn everyday. |

123readygo: baralatie: Clevite:Does the Supreme Court have the powers to rule on monetary policies initiated by CBN❓ My belief is that the Supreme Court doesn't have the powers to dictate to the CBN on such affairs. |
| Re: Supreme Court Temporarily Halts Banning Of Old Naira Notes by baralatie(m): 10:18pm On Feb 09, 2023 |
charlsecy:According to ozekhone SAN The Supreme Court has not decided the matter. All it has done is to fall back to a decision like Kotoye v. CBN, that in matters of extreme urgency, you can grant an interim order, even if it be ex parte, to prevent the subject matter of the suit being truncated. Therefore on the 15th we will know if the supreme court has jurisdiction to entertain the case |

Joevics:Hahaha has the SGF been at the bar since 1982? You think everyone on NL is your age? The fact that the Federal High court has jurisdiction on matters relating to currency does not give it jurisdiction on a matter bought by a state against the FGN or another state whether on currency or on any other matter. And it is trite that the SC is a superior court to the FHC. You guys and the SGF and the MoJ were snookered by a very simple constitutional law matter. Sometimes I wonder what it takes to become the MoJ? It certainly isn't a sound knowledge of law. Is this not the same guy that has exposed the FGN to a reserve draining USD $1.7bn court loss to JP Morgan? Rely on political appointees at your own risk. |
