Anambra Government Hands-Over Hectares Of Land To Seven Real Estate Developers For Housing Development Projects

By Blessing Uchendu (ABS Reporter)

Anambra State government has handed over hectares of land to real estate developers for different development purposes.

The event which was performed in Awka, was attended by representatives from the Anambra State Ministry of Lands, Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency, ANSIPPA, and of the host communities.

The real estate developers and hectares of land allocated to them are: CNN Urban Developers Limited 20 hectares, Rainbow Heritage Projects Services Limited -- 110 hectares, MIO Construction Company Nigeria Limited -- 15 hectares, Southern Matrix Projects Limited -- 20 hecters, Periwinkle Residences Limited -- 30 hectares, Treasure Garden Investment Limited -- 19 hectares and Romax Properties Limited -- 19 hectares.

The lands, which would be channeled to construction of housing development projects are located within Awka metropolis and Isiagu Community, all in Awka South Local Government Area.

While flagging off the handover, the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo said that housing is one of his administration's primary agenda, tailored to achieving the Smart Mega City vision and to also help close the housing deficit in the state.

Professor Soludo, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, said the projects with a timeline of three to four years will see the investors launch into world class real estate amenities and development services that will include roads, water and power projects, police posts, hospitals, schools and others.

The governor urged the developers to give their best in order to help achieve a liveable and prosperous Anambra State and noted that the projects will provide job opportunities for youths even as he called on host communities to give the developers adequate support.

On his part, the Anambra State Commissioner for Lands, Professor Offornze Amucheazi, said that out of the seventy two developers that submitted proposals, seven were selected, and assured the host communities that the initiative is in the best interest of all Ndi Anambra.

He noted that the drive is focused on the "New Awka" initiative, which is bringing in world class infrastructure into the capital city, and promised that the developers would be given every necessary support to succeed.

Earlier during the signing of the Public-Private Partnership Framework Agreement, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ANSIPPA, Mr Mark Okoye, said the housing development is expected to commence one month from date of handover of project sites to the investors and that all projects are expected to be completed before the first quarter of 2027, adding that the projects will serve as an example for other investors about what is possible in an investment-friendly Anambra State.

In their remarks, the Managing Director of CNN Urban Developers, Mr Wilson Thomas, that of Periwinkle Residencies Limited, Dr Chinedu Nweke and Mr Tony Epele of Southern Matrix Projects Limited, said that they are committed to ensuring that the projects will be executed in record time and in compliance with stipulations of the agreement.

In attendance at the event were the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Ms. Chiamaka Nnake, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, ACTDA, Mr Ossy Onuko, his Housing Development Corporation counterpart, Mr Chike Anyaonu and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Lands, Mr Edwin Ejike among others.

You are only a bitter envious imo indigene. No matter how much you try to deceive yourself , Awka is far better than the glorified village that's Owerri. Awka has flyovers but Owerri has none. Awka has worldclass ICC but Owerri has none. Awka has better roads including Awka Millennium city but Owerri has no such worldclass precinct. Awka equally has a bigger economy than Owerri. Ask yourself why most imo indigenes rather live in Onitsha and Awka than live in Owerri. Awka is the fastest developing city in Nigeria aside Abuja. Keep fooling yourself.

pandax:

Thank you for your submission. Clearly, you understood Awka and its challenges very well. We have made mistake with the old Awka, but repeating same mistake at New Town and Ifite axis is very painful.

Hope one or two of these new estates will include highrise blocks for flats, offices or even a combination of both (mixed use)! This would help maximise use of the available space, optimise functionality, and it would be a novel addition to the Awka skyline!

This is long overdue. Especially if you recall that modern Nollywood practically started in Onitsha, but due to a lack of infrastructure and a harsh environment, it moved to Asaba and helped to grow the city.

One really hopes that those ruling Anambra would see how we have continuously lost every investment due to the gross lack of infrastructure and a very unconducive environment. We really need to fix Anambra and make it the liveable homeland that Soludo promised.

News Alert.

Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo on Thursday, February 9, 2023, flagged off the construction of Atani-Ozubulu road with a bridge at Atani, Ogbaru local government area.

The 11.37km road project shall be completed in 18 months time according to the contractor, Engr Tony of Tamad Construction Ltd.

Among APGA candidates who joined Governor Soludo at the flag-off include the Federal House of Representatives candidate for Ogbaru 1& 2 federal constituency; Mr. Arinze Aworgu, candidate for Ogbaru state constituency 1; Hon. Linus Ezenwamma and candidate for Ogbaru 2; Hon Emmanuel Uzonwanne, and other top government functionaries including the Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief of Protocol, Mr. Chinedu Nwoye, and others.

MASSIVE CROWD RECEIVES GOVERNOR SOLUDO AT IHEMBOSI AS HE FLAGS-OFF 16.05KM IHEMBOSI-OZUBULU-UKPOR ROAD

The Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, was at Ihembosi, Ekwusigo LGA of the state to flag-off the construction of a 16.05 kilometer Ihembosi-Ozubulu Road. The governor, who was welcomed by a jubilant mammoth crowd of APGA members, citizens and prospective voters of the area, was visibly elated by the turn-out of people at the flag-off - aged women inclusive.

He appealed to Ekwusigo in particular and Anambra residents in general that as the government has embarked on massive road construction, employment of teachers, doctors and nurses and many other transformational projects, there is need for the people to complement the genuine effort of the government by paying their taxes.

He reassured the people of government's prudent management of the funds for the well-being and development of the state. He also encouraged the youths to take advantage of the massive human capital empowerment programme ongoing through the Anambra State Government '1Youth 2Skills Scheme' championed by the Ministry of Youth Development.

Prof. Soludo further asserted that over 400 youths of the state are currently undergoing rigorous skill acquisition training sponsored by the state government. The objective of the programme, he reiterated, is to reduce; to the bare minimum, the menace of unemployment in Anambra.

The governor, however, reminded Ndi Ekwusigo, as the name implies, to prove it by coming out en masse to vote for APGA on 25th February and 11th March 2023 as the best thing that has happened and will continue to happen to Ndi Anambra because Nkea bu nke anyi, as APGA slogan implies.

Speaking during the occasion, APGA State Chairman, Sir Norbert Obi, commended Governor Soludo for keeping to the promise he originally made to Ndi Ekwusigo during the last governorship campaign; adding that with grass roots development projects as this, Ekwusigo will give block votes to APGA in the forthcoming elections.

In his remarks, The APGA Candidate for Anambra South Senatorial District in the forthcoming election, Rt Hon. Chris Azubogu thanked the governor very profoundly for his developmental strides in less than a year in office and also implored the people of Ekwusigo to reciprocate the gesture of goodwill of the governor by voting for APGA from top to bottom.

Dignitaries on the ground were: Hon Commissioner for Housing, Barr Pauly Onyeka, TC Chairman of the council area, the Hon. Chimezie Obi, APGA candidate for Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo federal constituency, Chief Clement Nwachukwu Elodimmuo and other very important personalities.

SOLUDO INSPECTS THE 16 KM UKPOR-OZUBULU ROAD IN NNEWI SOUTH.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Thursday, February 9, 2023, inspected the revalidated 16km Ukpor - Umunoko - Nza-Ozubulu road in Nnewi South.

Among APGA candidates who joined Governor Soludo at the inspection include the Anambra South senatorial candidate; Hon. Chris Azubogu, Federal House of Representatives candidate for Ekwusigo, Nnewi South and Nnewi North federal constituency; Mr. Eleodimmuoh Uchenna and candidate for Nnewi South state constituency 2; Engr. Chieloka Henry Okoye and other top government functionaries including the Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief of Protocol, Mr. Chinedu Nwoye, and others.

GOVERNOR CHARLES CHUKWUMA SOLUDO AT UKPOR, INSPECTS REVALIDATION OF UKPOR - UMUNOKO-NZA-OZUBULU ROAD, HONOURS LATE MBAZULIKE AMECHI

In what can best be described as 'merry-go-round', the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, on 9th February 2023 visited Ukpor for inspection of a 16km road revalidation which connects Ukpor - Umunko-Nza-Ozubulu (Afor Ozubulu to Afor Ukpor) road.

His Excellency together with his entourage, was accorded a warmth welcome by an overwhelming and obviously excited crowd which comprises the people of the aforementioned communities and other party faithfuls.

Percussion instruments were used by the elated crowd whose joy knew no bounds to entertain their guests also declared that Governor Soludo religiously kept his promise to them in less than a year in the office.

The APGA Campaign Council, including the local government TC, Comr Ikenna Aniagboso in a heartfelt vote of thanks, appreciated the workaholic governor for the massive ongoing and some already completed road construction in all the 21 local government areas of the state; especially that from Afor Ozubulu to Afor Ukpor in their council area.

The joyous audience couldn't help but spontaneously continued to chant the popular mantra 'SOLUTION IS HERE, APGA!!!, NKEA BU NKE ANYI'

Addressing the evidently excited crowd, Prof Soludo re-emphasized his kind of politician to not include those who momentarily forget their promises to the people when asking for their votes. That he never promises and fails to keep his promises to the letter. That the integrity of a good leader is the function of the relationship between what he says and what he does over time.

In his words 'Our government is Ekwueme government'. Which is loosely translated to mean 'talk and do government'. 'We keep showing the evidence'. The governor maintained that 'APGA is our own and we have to show maximum support during the next election. This is the only political party we have. You all need to join hands to vote in APGA candidates as this will strengthen collaboration in this government for more development'.

Similarly, in his tribute to the lives and times of an elder statesman, the Late Mbazulike Amechi, the governor said 'By the way, Tuesday is a night of tribute in his honour at the International Convention Centre, Awka and on Thursday, Nigeria will be in Anambra and will ply this road'.

According to Mr Commissioner for Works, Engr Ifeanyi Okoma, Governor approved the revalidation of this road since November 2022 immediately it was brought to his notice.

Also the senatorial candidate for APGA in Anambra South and the incumbent House of Representatives Member for Nnewi North/South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, Rt Hon Chris Emeka Azubogu, Nnewi South state Constituency candidate Hon Chieloke Henry Okoye both appreciated Mr Governor for keeping his promise to Ndi Nnewi South barely 10 months of his administration.

Other dignitaries at the event includes: The commissioner for environment; Mr Felix Odimegwu, Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief Protocol to the Governor, Chinedu Nwoye Glamour and others personalities

IGBOSON1:

I see you've added more claptrap to your post since first repying earlier on!

Dude, you're all over the place with your argument (and in your case, i use the term 'argument' quite losely) neither sticking to one position or giving cogent reasons for said position!

If you don't 'care about who likes or hates Igbos' is it then any wonder you're placing blame for insecurity in the south-east at the wrong doorstep!? If you don't know what ailment you have, then just how TF can you fix it.....you'd just be chasing shadows and blaming the wrong persons for your travails! In any case, i'm not surprised at the kind of infantile arguments you come up with as one has to sound really stupid to see black and try to 'argue' that it's white! You have a mission on this and other Igbo threads, and my own mission here is to expose your 5th-columnist status!

Just how TF can any grown ass Igbo man, knowing the history of what we have been through with the hegemonic north in 'one Nigeria' from the 50s to date.....how they have shown in words and in deeds their hatred for Igbos'.....just how TF can anyone interested in addressing how we go forward and prosper as a people not take seriously their negative disposition towards Ndigbo!? Are you fcking kidding me!? It was this same uninterested and appeasing attitude towards the hegemonic north by Zik that made us not know the dangers we were going into agreeing to share the same country with them! At least the then Sadauna was honest enough to acknowledge there were schisms and intractable issues amongst the major ethnicities and regions, while on the other hand Zik wanted them overlooked! Now see where we are today with the loss of millions of our beloved kinsfolk and the undermining of our economic and political interests in 'one Nigeria'!

I believe the major reason the hegemonic north despises Ndigbo -apart from the religious aspect- is that we are a never-say-die people who love a challenge and have the drive, tenacity and staying power to take advantage of opportunities at our disposal to progress economically and do well for ourselves, and they find it hard to compete! The core north has a different worldview and values, and would usually come second place to the Igbo in any competing educational, economic and political environment! The hegemonic north was never comfortable sharing the same space with Ndigbo because of this and this could be seen in that infamous interview the then Sadauna gave where he disparaged the Ndigbo proclivity to strive for success wherever and however they find themselves! I believe part of the reason we have found ourselves holding the short end of the stick in 'one Nigeria' is because of this attitude our elite have to be so trusting, naive and think everyone else values life and the principles of fairness, equity and justice like we do! This is our achilles heel!

Dude, if you're looking for who to 'bring progress the south-east or Alaigbo', why TF are you looking in the direction of IPOB!? With that your 'one Nigeria' mindset, don't you know the south-east and Alaigbo have existed in your 'one Nigeria' since 1960 and IPOB was formed just a little over a decade ago!? So for half a century, Ndigbo have been doing things your 'one Nigeria' way....with no IPOB butting in to dagbaru proceedings! So where then is the El-Dorado.....the 'miracle' transformantion of Alaigbo? Did we attain uhuru before IPOB appeared on the scene? Was there peace, harmony, justice and equity between Ndigbo and the hegemonic north and their southern partners!?

You see what you're doing? You are blaming IPOB for the evil machinations of the bigoted Buhari admin' and their hegemonic northern partners which has seen them illegally rendition Mazi kanu from Kenya....stall the judicial process since they know they don't have a judicial leg to stand on.....and then brazenly disregard a legally binding court order that has given Mazi kanu his freedom and instructed he be released forthwith! While this intransigence by Buhari and his evil partners was going on, a plan was then set in motion to try and 'factionalise' IPOB (this was when we saw the emergence of sponsored dingbats like the ekpa bastard, chinasa nworu, DOS, autopilots, etc) and this was when we started reading of conflicting interests within 'IPOB' and well as reading unreasonable statements/tweets from these compromised scumbags about sit-at-home (which IPOB have said severally has been called off) Biafra, etc! IPOB have released a statement saying the ekpa scoundrel is not one of them and doesn't speak for them! Equally, Mazi Kanu and IPOB have sued for peace in the south-east region and condemned any form of violence in their name! IPOB has equally said they have not said elections shouldn't hold in the region! Given all the aforementioned, it's then a wonder how anyone with a working brain can't see the obvious hand of the deep-state...the Buhari gov't, and their hegemonic partners in all the bloodshed and insecurity going on in the south-east!

It's NZOBGU-NZOGBU and not NSOGBU-NSOGBU! The literal translation of nsogbu-nsogbu would mean for instance a group of angry young men, moving forward energetically in a dancing fashion, and stamping their feet on the ground in unison as they vigorously sing 'trouble-trouble...enyimba, enyi'! Does that even make sense!

Ndigbo have always tried to do things by the book in Nigeria! We have always wanted to treat others fairly even as we expect to be treated fairly ourselves, and this is in keeping with our Egbe belu, Ugo belu..... philosophy! However, like i alluded to earlier, there are some who don't go by this maxim and would much rather cheat others while they take more than their fairshare in politics, economy, and the distribution of our commonwealth! You could see Ndigbo showing this sense of fairness and justice in the way we stuck up for and supported our Ijaw neigbour for president even though this would have worked against our political interests! You could equally see injustice being visited on us on many occassions: Ibeto/INNOSON/Air-Peace travails; stealing hydrocarbon rich parts of Alaigbo and placing in other regions/states to be manged and enjoyed by others; denying Ndigbo (purportedly a 3rd leg of the tripod) any commanding presence in the security architecture of the country; depriving Anambra of its 13% derivation payments until Obiano had to go to Abuja to kick up a fuss; the refusal by some to acknowledge it is now Igbo lo kon; etc! We hate injustice....whether it's being visited on us or anyone else, and we're fiercely protective of our freedoms as well!

Nobody needs to lecture Ndigbo on how to be economically and politically strong! In a fair and just society (which Nigeria is not), we would do well and compete with the best at the top! However, in a country like Nigeria, where the system is rigged against us and we see the other two legs of the tripod trying to undermine our political and economic interests at any given opportunity, there's little else one can do besides fight ones corner! It's this fighting for what's ours that has rubbed some up the wrong way and they are determined to bring us down a peg or two to the 'enslaved/3rd-class' status they feel is appropriate for us since they reckon they are the 'victors' in the '67-'70 uncivil war and that Nigeria belongs to their hegemonic ass!

U are just going round and round the circle. Okay fine, Fulani, Hausa and Yoruba hates us.

What then

Please tell me the way forward. I am waiting

U guys just rant about problems without solution.

My dear all the money you guys are contributing to IPOB can successfully set up a factory in ABa or Onitsha.

De Prof. Barth Nnaji is building a power plant in Abba and FG has granted him all the necessary approval. Abia is doing Enyimba Economic City and FG has granted them all approval. NA only brainwashed IPOB people thinks FG is slapping down all investments in SE.

Guys, wake up and smell the coffee. We've been left behind in terms of infrastructure and industrialization. De Michael Okpara will be crying in his grave

Quit this despondent and defeatist mindset and roll up ur sleeve and get to work.

Igbos must rise and live and invest in their land, and may God help who tries to stop us. He will reget he ever did.

That's my f***king concern not this junks u wrote here.

Now u are trying to exonerate IPOB from the violence going on in SE. How pathetic. U talk about auto pilot, who brought in Simon Ekpa? Was it not Kanu and his IPOB minions? Where did the autopilot came out from?

I thought you are wise as much as you wrote.

AS far as I am concerned, no nation or tribe can stop a determined 50 milion people (Igbos). Get this into your skull and do the right thing.

This was how we excused poor leadership in SE, excusing their poor leadership for FG.

Maybe the next thing you will write is to educate me on how Igbos can not invest in SE cause the FG bars it. Mtchweee.
