Do you know how many people will be served if that cash is loaded in ATM machines, assuming each person is allowed a maximum of 20k per withdrawal?

They’re criminals and we have too many criminals in this country, unfortunately.

They managed to frustrate the government and people alike.

Release money for people to withdraw, no way.

You see those people gathered at ATM points, it will be shocking to know that most of them are there for less than that 20k .

Up till now ICPC is yet to report sterling to CBN like others. On a good day and everything being equal, a branch of a bank can dispense N250m in a day.

I don't believe any of them.

It is either you don't understand how banking works or you didn't get the full information, hence your misplaced outrage.

250M was found at the HQ of the bank, emphasis on HQ.
250M divided by 20k weekly limit can only cater to 12,500 people. Sterling Bank has 141 branches, that's about 88 customers per branch. Meanwhile, you have more than 100 people inside the bank and 150 at the ATMs.
That 250M It will dissolve within 20 mins.

So, 250M is nothing in banking and I stand by it. If you no gree, na you sabi.

You can't accuse a bank of hoarding cash if their machines are paying. Having money in the vault is not a crime.

There's something called hub in the banking system...an hub receives or collate money on behalf of other branches. It was a regional office that was "bursted". That amount is insignificant as they are a hub.

If sterling bank atm machines were dispensing cash as at the time ICPC officials went there i really don't see anything wrong with the bank having some spare cash in their vault.

Was ICPC expecting to meet empty vault?

Its only if their ATM machines were not paying while they had the cash in their vault that the bank would be at fault

The response or defence is too weak.

sterling bank didn't deny them seeing the amount but they said there was money in their ATM and money was being disbursed on the counter too..meaning they have not committed any offence
