The rich also cry.If Nigerian politicians can be regularly experiencing the pains suffered by the masses, then they would think twice about misbehaving in public office.

I have zero pity for the stupid senator. That's the results of Neglecting our health system in Nigeria. I only wish his daughter speedy recovery !

That lawyer of his must be a learner to have come up with this line of defense. Oga better admit your crime and do your time in peace, all this back and forth argument wouldn't exonerate you, rather you're just prolonging the inevitable.

The painful part of this whole drama is that after his jail term, this one would still come back to Nigeria as proud as a peacock and vie for elective positions and lots of folks would still vote, support and die on his mandate. Truly we are our own problem.

He was an ideal match, he just wasn't suitable for the surgery. The Doctors sensed something was off.

Once they called off the surgery, they likely started maltreating him already. That's why the boy ran away and he was wandering for 3 days until he came across a police station.

Even if the transplant was successful, they had no intentions of paying him, they didn't even tell him why they bought him to the UK.

But luck is on the boy's side, people that are victims of trafficking don't get deported easily. They may allow him to settle.
Why are people so mean if what you say is true?.

A man like Ekweremadu who has over 50 houses could easily have afforded paying the boy £10,000 for a failed job and possibly £25k if he was a suitable match.

He could also be a recipient of cash gifts from them regularly thereafter. No amount of money can be placed on life. Their greed and meanness did them in.

Well
Look it from this angle
He can afford to buy a car of £50000 (we have not talked about the price of a house he bought in the UK).Now you have a sick daughter nobody in the family wants to donate his/her kidney but got a stranger kidney for £7000 .and that's it.They now lied to the UK authorities that he was a relative so that they would not be questioned
Waow!

I very much doubt the donor would have acted altruistically. Probably upon discovering he wasn't an ideal match, they probably left him empty handed. Leaving the UK empty handed for the poverty stricken Nigeria might have been too much for the donor and hence the present imbroglio.

I feel if Ekweremadu had settled the donor well after the disappointing medicals, the story today might be different.
They are caught between the rock and a hard place here.

Even if the the donor was not altruistic, they must assert that he was, because under the law all live organ donors must be altruistic otherwise the donation is illegal and they can not open their case by agreeing to an illegal act.

The problem with invoking that, someone acted altruistic is that, the person has to agree with you. In this case, the person that would have defended them is in the opposition. and since the guy is been treated as a victim, the law covers and immune him from prosecution even if he admitted to being part of the illegal act to accept money and favor in exchange for one of his kidneys.

And if the guy starts that, he was in it for the money, that throws their 'altruistic' defense out of the window unless they can then proof that, he was once acting unselfish with no desire for financial gains or return favors and he is now lying....which will be a tough one.

The line that...."Nigerian looks after each other" is a big lie and the defense will eat them raw on that, I wish I can tell that to my POS agent who is charging me 30% to exchange Naira for Naira.

LIKE PLAY LIKE PLAY, it is slowly showing some signs that Senator Ekweremadu might taste the JAMES IBORI treatment in the United Kingdom.

What makes it so painful for Senator Ekweremadu is that he is a serving Senator of the federal republic of Nigeria and elections is getting so close which means he is going to loose out if he is not release anytime soon.

If he actually wanted to harvest the boys organs, dont you think he would have done it in Nigeria? Why would he fly the boy to the UK to do what he could have done in Nigeria where he is influential?

There's more to this story than meets the eye

Alamieghesa, James Ibori, Ekweremadu.

Why is it that politicians are saints and then exonerated in Nigeria but indicted in foreign countries. Even Supreme court is for highest bidders and now the biggest threat to justice in Nigeria.

If it was in Nigeria, Ekweremadu will be a free and influential man despite his crimes (the late Buruji Kashanmu comes to mind), but thank God he's in a sane country where you actually answer and pay for your crime. Useless corrupt politicians have handicapped this country, you can see how they're also trying to handicap Buhari because he's answerable to them. That's why I love the Obidient Movement, it is 💯 people driven and we can pull Obi's ear anytime he fuccks up. Unlike the other two demigods who think they're above the law.

Peter Obi will sanitise this country and set it on its path to success. VOTE PETER OBI
If it was Nigeria, the matter would get to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court would then find Ekwerenmadu innocent and the boy guilty on technicalities. They would say the boys lawyers made a technical error by saying he was homeless when he has a home. So the boy would be ordered to donate his kidney and 5 years in jail as punishment.

If we are to follow the law, senator Ekwerenmadu should have stopped being referred to as a serving senator. The law stipulates the number of sittings per session a senator must sit. Failure to meet the required number of sittings would result in the seat being declared vacant. Senator Ekwerenmadu has not sit for close to a year now.

Even to the extent of including Ike Ekweremadu's daughter with kidney disease in trial as well.

Nigeria's Fulani led government is dealing with Ike Ekweremadu because of his acts with Saraki in snatching senate leadership from President Buhari.
Ekweremadu as Senator has been licking the ass of Fulani, to the extent of tabling a motion in the Senate to thank Mutallab, the father of the young man who tried to shoe bomb American airline.
