The president is looking for a soft landing.

He has allowed his authority to be challenged by Governors, and he has been restrained by the Supreme Court.

It is 4pm, and the Presidency has still not found a face-saving way to issue a direct statement that the old and new currency should co-exist as the supreme court has ordered.

In the past few hours alone, they have bombarded us with pictures of the president shaking hands with former heads of state, and now senate president and the speaker. Trying to manipulate us. The presidency is hiding behind Council of State.

Was it Council of State that gave directive to Emefiele to introduce the policy?

The President needs to face the media, explain to us how he misfired on this policy, and apologise to the people of this country. Then we can understand and forgive. This is what an American president would do.
