The last time, I know I promised you COVID-19 palliatives, onions and tomatoes but this time, I promise you 2 new N1000 notes, fresh from CBN and personally signed by Don Emefiele. |

kokaneprodigy:I am talking about Lee Mason the VAR. He was the VAR but did not pick up the offside goal despite having the advantage of watching the goal in slow motion multiple times. He forgot to check for offside. |

kokaneprodigy:He is not an intelligent person. He was checking for a foul but forgot to check for offside. I never have confidence in him as a ref. There are some refs who have agendas against or for certain clubs. Lee Mason is just incompetent. English refs are elevated to EPL based mainly on man know man. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 9:16am On Feb 13, 2023 |
Jodera:His presence would help to break low block defending. This is because he will not hang out with those CBs and so they will be struggling to know who to mark. Nketiah makes it easy for them as he stays with them effectually denying us of an extra man. They key to breaking low block defending is to either add an extra man to the CF role (this is preferable) or the CF moves to the sides leaving the opposing CBs idle (in essence a false 9) |

| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 8:42pm On Feb 13, 2023 |
Spy360:That's one of the things I love about my strikers — attributes of roaming about. They may not get that much goals but they'll eventually help in creating chances and spaces for team mates to capitalise on and score the goals. Aside from roaming about hence disrupting the opposition structure/backline, he's also good at dribbling in tight spaces and moving the ball forward (something Nketiah also isn't strong at). He's also underrated in us winning aerial balls too. But all in all, Arteta needs to be flexible in helping Nketiah. If I remember correctly, we were working on 3412/3142 in preseason and early this season and it was effective when used. Why is he not implementing it? |

They have changed the official in charge of VAR on Wednesday. He was the same man that incorrectly ruled out Brighton's goal against Crystal palace. ![]() |

iamoyindamola:As it is now...let's just play a back 3 of Holding, Saliba and Gabriel.... Kiwior, Partey, Tierney and Tomi in Midfield.... OdeSaka and Trossard in attack. Let's defend for our life tomorrow. We need to protect that 3 points for some time at least. ![]() |

Spy360:Your thoughts are in line with my position about breaking down a low block. Every time we face teams that pack the midfield or their defense, Arteta maintains the same tactics with hopes that with patience he can break them but the difference is that opponents are not biting. So what can we do? I have a stronger preference for loading the box with an extra player that will take one of the CBs away. Numerous times over the last 3 games when we were in search of a goal, I observed we had only Nketiah inside the box, the rest of the players were hanging around the edge or top of the box because they have a creative mentality versus scoring mentality. Against Everton/ Brentford, there was an option to remove Xhaka for Trossard then move Martinelli into the box to partner Nketiah; essentially switch to an attacking 4-4-2. The other option would be to introduce Holding and push him into the box to partner Nketiah or switch to a back 3 and push one of Gabu/Saliba into that box to support Nketiah. This will provide aerial, physical presence and a good chance for 2nd balls. Another option is to narrow the width of our attack. This is a big problem for us and one of the things that makes our offense predictable when we are searching for a goal. When you narrow the width, your wingers/ inverted forwards will find themselves inside the width of the box rather than outside the box. This also means the CBs and FBs have more players to account for inside the box which also gives us a chance to win PKs. Attack from the middle of the box and the switch will help. No one is saying our original attacking tactics is bad or poor, afterall, it is a big reason why we leading the pack. We are just saying we need a 2nd/ 3rd option when we are desperate for a goal. |

iamoyindamola:I, myself don't want us to defend but the last 10 minutes of our FA cup clash changed my view. Pep will always be Arteta's superior. He brought in Walker and Alvarez and everything changed, we started panicking. Let's just defend our 3 points lead. |

iamoyindamola:I totally agree. In fact I think we should play our normal attacking game. Pep will not adjust his tactics for us. Neither will he ask two people to mark Saka. The only difference is for Trossard to start. I will also like a situation where Martinelli replaces Nketiah instead of Trossard. |
