Police detain House on the Rock pastor for preaching with AK-47, seek dismissal of police officer who gave him the rifle

The Intelligence Response Team, Force Intelligence Bureau, Garki, Abuja has detained the presiding pastor of House on the Rock in Abuja, Pastor Uche Aigbe, for carrying an AK-47 while preaching in the church on Sunday, February 12.

Aigbe caused a stir in the church on Sunday when he came in bearing the weapon in his hand. The FCT police command commenced an investigation this morning and discovered that the weapon was handed over to him by one Inspector Musa Audu who was on an assignment in the church,

When interrogated, Audu told the police that he only offered the weapon to Pastor Aigbe because he wanted to use it for illustration. The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory Command, Sadiq Abubakar, has made a recommendation to the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, to dismiss Inspector Audu.

Anybody that breaks the law flagrantly should be banned from the pulpit or mosque or shrine.

No single entity should be above the state law........

This guy was passing a subtle message, he should be dealt with, tried in court and jailed.( Better still impose economic sanctions on his church, Let them pay a fine of 500 million, next time no pastor will brandish an AK47 two weeks prior to election)

I think his detention is normal but FFK that raised fake coup alert was interrogated for about 5hrs and asked to go back home. Also, those illegal Ak47 carrying Cattlemen's. Where is the equity in our system? APC govt just be sent packing next week

It's unprofessional for the police officer to have handed his gun to a civilian but d punishment seems a little bit harsh coming from a force we all know how they turn blind eye on miscreants carrying same guns while granting interviews.

Is he a police officer, naval, air Force, soldier, or even civil defence.

I support his detention because his action has brought embarrassment to the Christian body in Nigeria.

This is why people are told not to engage in gimmicks in the church because if he was preaching Kingdom advancement message, he wouldn't have time for such unnecessary drama in the name of wowing the congregation.
