It is illegal to reject old naira notes in Lagos...."

Lagos State Government vows to enforce Supreme Court Ruling

FLASH: SANWO-OLU WARNS AGAINST REJECTION OF OLD NOTES

The Lagos State Government wishes to put on record the patience and calmness of Lagosians following the controversy generated by the Naira shortage crisis.

The State Government has joined the dispute at the Supreme Court, which today adjourned the hearing of the matter till February 22. When the matter first came up on February 8, the apex court said the old notes remained legal tender.

That position has not changed. The State Government hereby warns those rejecting the old notes to desist from doing so or face prosecution. It is against the law to reject the old notes as doing so is contrary to the position of the Supreme Court.

Governor Sanwo-Olu urges Lagosians to remain law-abiding and shun mischief makers who may exploit this temporary situation to promote their anti-people agenda. He is confident that the Judiciary will resolve all the issues around the currency shortage crisis.

To cushion the effect of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) directive on the old notes, especially on the vulnerable among us, Lagos State has started the distribution of the food packs promised by the Governor.

The 50% fares slash on all State transportation facilities continues, as directed by Mr. Governor.

You want people to suffer.

If Buhari will not obey Supreme court then Lagos state will not obey the Federal government either. I still spent N3000 old notes today. grin

We shall live independently. So help us God.

Drug servant, feel free to make old notes your legal tender in Lagos. You better think of reconciling with your rejected son before you get doomed.

Yorubas are also not very lucky like some other tribes in Nigeria to have right people in position of authority.

I sincerely feel for the good Yorubas 'cos their level of education is really not playing out on their people holding political positions.

The people have rejected Tinubu!

Know that, know peace.

Go for that DNA test first before enforcing any Court order.
The more these politicians kick against the new note policy, the more I see reasons to embrace it because they've never been known to have the interest of the people at heart.

This Governor supposed to encourage his people on how to get their old notes deposited at the designated banks, to encourage a cashless economy, give pos to retailers instead of distributing that useless palliatives...not encouraging what is not because the old notes just have to go no matter SC ruling(don't know if he want to sustain the stored old notes for election use). Let's just agree that the old notes are gone for good, whatever the intention of government, we should embrace the new cashless regime.
Remembered this same way was how they pushed most of you to reject subsidy removal in 2011, saying their was nothing like subsidy grin

The Cabals played Tinubu. The first plan was to half the vote from Tinubu's own region by tricking him to go for a Muslim Muslim ticket knowing fully well that south West region is 50/50 based on religion. The Cabals know 80% of Christians in the southwest won't vote for a Muslim Muslim ticket. Ask yourself this question, have you ever seen a Northern presidential candidate pick a Muslim VP even when his region is about 85% Muslim? Now they are putting anti-people policies in place to further cause more damage to APC/Tinubu.

My point is whoever the cabals are, have their own candidate. When last did you see the PDP attack Labour Party on anything whereas APC is always on the Labour party's case now and again when it should be the other way round as it seems LP has gained a stronghold of major PDP States. There is going to be a shocking coalition between PDP and LP very soon.

Atiku or Peter Obi is either going to be your next President. Tinubu has been played!!
