These APC guys are seeing the handwriting on the wall, that their time is up, so they are trying to put spanner in the wheel of the political process by inciting disregard to the rule of law. How can a governor of a state state contrary policies on issue of currency - a constitutional issue that is beyond the state?

El-Rufai is using his own hands to invite State if Emergency in Kaduna.

If he dares Buhari, a sole administrator will be appointed for Kaduna who will carry out the directives of the president.

All these trash he’s saying is just so he can use the old notes he has stashed at home to buy votes.

I just hope Kaduna people will not join him in this foolishness.
They will simply go where they stashed the money and pick it up.

And why should the Supreme Court deliver an injunction, just two days, to the expiration of the implementation of a policy by the President and Commander-in-Chief of a Country? Is the Supreme Court, by any sense or deduction, bigger than the President or Federal Executive Council?

Have you not heard of the Supreme Court receiving financial inducements in the past? Did you not hear how Wike 'watered' justices of the Supreme Court? Do you want me to relive the Walter Onnoghen saga for you?

My point is simple. Why hasn't El Rufai, Yahaya Bello and co., fought for ferocious national job creation, aggressive improvement in national security, power supply, education etc, and importantly review of the remunerations of public servants, just as they are doing with the Currency Redesign Policy? In short, where dem dey during the ASUU strike of about 8 months or so?

Why would one presidential candidate, or a few, see this development as personal witch-hunt?

Have we considered the huge benefits of the policy on national security (i.e significantly reduced spate of kidnapping, money laundering, cybercrime etc.); economic digitization; financial crime investigations; job creation; improved business environment safety etc.

This policy alone, has the potentiality of restoring the dignity of the Nigerian populace, particularly by way of helping them retake their minds from politicians who almost perpetually, believe that they could be bought over with mone, every four years.

The redesign policy or its implementation cannot be more hurtful than the joblessness of millions of Nigerian youths, or the abysmal access to electricity by small businesses, or even the pains of losing loved ones to senseless insecurity. How much rural people get sef wey dey bother El Rufai and Yahaya Bello? Are El Rufai, Yahaya Bello and co, genuinely fighting for Nigerians, or for Bola Tinubu and themselves?

It will be most beneficial for us to note this: that the formula for knowing the right Government policy in Nigeria is in its widespreadness and effect, especially on both the poor and rich, high and mighty etc; and importantly, they are the policies that give the highly-placed, particularly politicians sleepless nights.

Go back and read the inbetweens of El Rufai's speech, to, by ourselves, extract and confirm Buhari's innocence, accomodating mien and obvious good intentions with the policy and its implementation, thus far.

El Rufai, by himself, grossly claimed that 'their' propositions were not 'seriously considered', and in contrast as well, he conceded to 'rejecting' the ground-shifting modification by the President / CBN to reintroduce the old N200 bills for the next 60 days, in view of ameliorating the suffering of common Nigerians. Can you juxtapose those two positions by the same person? Should all of his 'propositions' to the President / CBN be taken, hook, line and sinker, for Buhari to become a saint? Na so Buhari / CBN dey interfere with his governance of Kaduna state? Will he (El Rufai) allow wholesome, external interference to his governance of Kaduna state? How much of such public outcry did he listen to as FCT Minister, and as Governor? Abi, make we play him cassette for you again? Why be say na the old N1000 and N500 bills dey pain dem? Na their denominations be that na. Why N50 and N20, wey Buhari no touch, no dey worry them? We want dem to dey carry our money for low bills, so that we fit dey see the ghana-must-go bags wella...

Every policy....every good policy hurts. We must all sacrifice, and be smart in order not to be continually 'played' by politicians fighting the personal interests.

Let the band play
Some more governors will follow suit.....once the governor's make contrary statements to the charade Buhari did yesterday,it will automatically nullify Buhari's order.

I am really enjoying this and this is a test of true fiscal federalism we have all been clamouring for......it will only lead to a positive outcome and will end up making Nigeria better.

The law is not on their side. Where in Nigeria do one rush to supreme court without going to Appeal court. Where in the law do you get court injunction without mentioning the party involved? CBN has autonomy, they were not mentioned in the suite. It's a kangaroo court! Meanwhile, when you sale your honour for some piece of meat , the people that bought will give you none when it matters!
You are not a Lawyer obviously.. But the question of Jurisdiction of the Court will be decided by the Court itself. However where a Court especially a Supreme Court takes a temporary stand, it is binding on all Parties. So Any group of people still wish to trade in the old currencies will be backed by Law untill that interlocutory injuction.

The war some people from a particular region have been praying for is finally here ! Alas, they are even rejoicing openly, thinking foolishly as usual, that they stand to gain something from the impending anarchy ! Oh my, how foolish can these people who don't learn from the history be ?!! What is going on in the country now is deliberately designed to trigger a bloody crisis and when that happens, this particular group of people I'm talking about will be a source of target all the nation except in their native region ! 2023 Is a goalllllllllll.
PETER OBI WILL NOT WIN THE ELECTION IN 2023,TRY AGAIN IN 2027.
Mallam El-Rufai na man you be, although I disagree with a lot of actions the Mallam Governor has taken in the last 8 years, but I totally agree with his fight against the financial bandit, financial Terrorist, currency kidnapper called Emefailure on this currency confistication policy.
I have said it several times, I voted twice for Baba Buhari in 2015 and 2019,
believing he will fight corruption, end banditry, crush all the parasites feeding on Nigeria's blood, alas l waited in vain.
For 7 and half years, this version of Buhari I voted for didn't show up.
Now it's 2 weeks to the change of baton, this Buhari suddenly resurrects and remembers it's time to fight corruption, abeggggg let him go back to Daura to feed his cows,it's too late.
Mallam El-Rufai should battle Baba Buhari till next week Saturday.
I say it all the time,Baba Buhari ceases to be My president immediately the last vote is counted on the night of the 25th of February 2023.
Let him stop all this cosmetic emergency corruption fighting he's trying to forcefully enforce on Nigerians.
Lest I forget,Mr Malami should remind Baba Buhari he's no longer a military dictator, the yeye broadcast of this morning had all the trapping of Baba Buhari reading one of his broadcast during his time as a military dictator.
Someone should explain to Baba Buhari that there's the legislative part of government now,and he can't rule by military Fiats or decrees anymore.
Yeye dey smell
God bless Nigeria
I strongly agreed with you. Why did he wait till now before he consider currency resign to tame money Laundering, banditry, terrorism, kidnapping, vote buying as if all those crime stated yesterday. 2015 and 2019 it was that vote buying that supported his victory at the poll.
I think Emefele is acting a script of the cabal who were pained due to the emergency of the Asiwaju. They have failed.
