Nigerians are very stubborn set of people!

You were given 3months notice to deposit your old note but, refused believing there most be extension of deadline.

If Buhari like, let him extend the deadline to the next 10years, some people will still wait for die minute.

Is only dull brains that doesn't know that El-rufai is fighting for his personal pocket.
And where are the new note to replace the deposited notes??

Don't just talk because u want to talk, don't talk because u tink it's necessary, rather talk because u want to talk sense.

Some deposited the old cash and when they went to withdraw, the same old money was dispensed to them.

Another low IQ clown with nothing to offer than miserable low level sentiments .if you don't have the range to understand what I have said then say so..

Buhari wakes up lies to low intelligent characters like you that some politicians have stashed money in houses to buy vote and this is his solution:

1.To shabily pull out 3 trillion naira if old notes out of the economy .
2. Fails to replace them with 3 trillion of the new notes but instead under prints only 300 billion naira of the new notes .

3 : triggers a needless cash scarcity which inturn triggers a cash stampede by helpless NIGERIANs looking for cash in an economy where 40 percent still remain unbanked .

4.. Lies to the stampeding Nigerian that he has released enough money to banks when he has not which in turn pitches the masses against innocent bankers and the masses start getting aggressive against banks and at same time start a bank run which starts to hurt the banking industry.

5.. does not give bank enough time to scale the capacity of the the National electronic transaction switches being run by NIBBs so suddenly overnight demand for E- transaction grow by over 100 folds and the NIBBs capacity can't handle it smoothly leaving the entire system overwhelmed

6. And he is doing all this just weeks to a major National election.

7 . On Monday Bank workers are starting to withdraw their services which will deal more blows to the already weakened economy failed church rats like you are already struggling to survive in but since your brain is small you believe it's okay to suffer as long as Tinubu suffers 😅.. but in reality both has really affected Tinubu
Stop grieving more than the bereaved.

If the banks are shut or closed, this will further aggravate the cash squeeze situation across the nation.

Where are we going?

The problem is scarcity of new notes. We can't find the notes anywhere. That is the problem. The CBN and Emiefele had no contingency plans to stop politicians from siphoning the new currencies.

The non-inclusive ticket has generated a back-lash of reactions by the excluded but silent majority of Christians and traditionalists. The ground-swell of opposition to this by the general public has caused policy somersaults by the state in its bid to maintain a politically balanced polity. The tumult should be expected to continue till the right balance is achieved before or after the elections.

It's better you don't respond to some post honestly, some people are have tunnel vision, one way traffic.

Once banks close again the anarchy will begin proper.

When some of us kept saying this policy is pure nonsense, some kept supporting nonsense now it's affecting everybody. Even the damned bank transfer they kept harping on is so messed up.

Even inter bank transfer is doing kalokalo.

They should make the new notes available, if they can't more trouble is looming, it's that simple.

So, it is now you're remembering that Buhari is a calamity after voting him in twice on religious and tribal grounds, despite our warnings?

We only hope you will continue to support this senseless monetary policy of Mr Buhari as you're all currently doing if the outcome of that elections doesn't favour your preferred candidate.

This shows that you obviously are the one that isn't in tune with reality. The critical problem is not deposition of the old notes but printing enough of the new notes to meet the demands. How can someone withdraw over a trillion of old notes and pump in less than 50billion of new notes? If you understood economics you will know that such a situation in the presence of an unstable electronic banking system, especially those living in rural areas, is only calling for chaos. Even developed societies allow old and new notes coexist while they gradually phase out the old notes over several months. That way, you can effectively replace the old notes with an equivalent volume of new notes, without anyone feeling any adverse effects. And for those arguing in line with electronic banking, even in advanced countries like the US and UK where electronic transfers are so efficient, payments for services run paripasu with both electronic and cash payments. I lived there and I'm telling you how the system works in these places.
Mind you, according to impeccable sources, it would take the CBN up to a year to print the equivalent volume of new naira notes to replace the old ones. And yet the mumu you have as CBN governor wants to achieve same in one month.

How will this curb vote buying?
Vote buying just became cheaper, people expecting 5k before will gladly accept 1k or 2k of the new currency.
You people will only wake up to the negative sides of this policy after the election.
