Imagine the audacity of these politicians forecasting votes to be bought at N200 naira because of the hardship they created.

N200 for another 8 years, that's even if the seller survives the hardship of the first 4 years cos someone who sells his vote is very unfortunate.

This shows the disconnect between them and the reality...what can N1,000 buy today, talk less of N200?

When you buy something worth N100(thats if you get anything of that amount), you pay N100 extra for transfer fee because there's no cash.

If only Nigerians could see through them and show them that they're not as dumb as these politicians think they are.

Nigerians wise up.

Many sub level thinkers won't be able to process what I am about to say but I will try.

There is nothing like vote buying , it's all a ruse , votes can only be won and whatever way a voters decides for his vote to be won is that voters concern as long as his process doesn't disenfranchise another voter .. There is a reason why the constitution says you must be a biological adult of 18 before you can vote this is to assure you have a biologically developed thought process that can make you make the best choices for you as to how you want your your vote to be won .
Voter A might want his vote to be won for some immediate gains as guided by his reality while voter B might opt for his votes to be won by way of religion or tribal affiliations , Voter C might opt for his vote to be won for just simple personal reasons like the candidate is his neighbor and voter D might want his vote to be won on the basis of some long term goals like a better society for his kids ..What ever path a voter decides to use to allow his vote to be win is legitimately valid as far as he doesn't disenfranchise another voter in the process...If someone says he will vote for the candidate that can give him immediate 5000 naira vote to solve immediate reality issues like hunger who are you to describe him as a vote seller or describe his own process as vote buying but you that is going for a candidate that is promising your kids cheaper vacation visa or a new bridge for your car to pass you say your own is the valid way to give vote ... People open your eyes there is nothing like vote buying in democracy

Go through my posts here on nairaland and you'll see that I've never been a fan of Buhari but that doesn't stop me from recognizing a good policy when I see one.
Yes the policy might have jeopardized his second term chances and that would have been because most Nigerians dont recognize what would be better for them on the long run, we often time demand for a quick fix just because we hate going through processes that will lead us to a better position.

How on earth is money redesigning and cashless policy a bad policy?
The implementation might look difficult at first but the long run effect is what Nigerians will still come to appreciate.
Not a bad policy but method of implementation is wrong. You want to go cashless fine. How about network issues that will aid transfer they totally forget they can't manage the traffic. The rural areas are the worst hit. Before a good policy should be implemented understand how it will affect the citizens first, but since most of our leaders think like misguided missiles you see them setting up the cart before the horse.

By their fruits you know them.

Vote buying is a ruse, just as fuel subsidy was declared a ruse pre-2015 but today, more has been spent on the ruse than ever in the history of Nigeria.

While you're entitled to your opinion, however sad that may be, this only portrays you as one of the agents of vote buying/selling.

The fact that you call others with contrary opinions sub level thinkers tells your loooow IQ level, given your submission.

Did you even stop to think that if things were right in Nigeria, people won't be so poor & illiterate that they'll sell their votes for N200?

Way to go, justifying criminal activity & evil with /as
an acceptable norm.

So now a voter is an adult who can choose to buy or sell votes but you're the same people that say: there's freedom of speech but freedom after speech is not guaranteed.

The constitution is only valid when it favours you like the politicians in these past few days?

Nobody, if Buhari and Emefiele wanted this policy to be successful they would have implemented years back and watch it to conclusion but they did not. If you consider something serious you do it on time.

why why why would you release your strategy ? Stupidity and bragging will be the downfall of most politicians in Nigeria. Now security agents and anticorruption agencies can conveniently track down people that are actively buying and selling votes. Hisut get the accounts those funds are coming out from and the accounts they are going to and get them all arrested after immunity expires.

Good assertion sir, that is the areas they need to improve on and I'm sure it will get better going forward. What I'm totally against is the people totally condemning the policy and some even tagged it a witchhunt of some political candidates.

The more suffering you inflict on people the less the incentives you need to buy them over. In the time of plenty people might not take N20,000 from you because they have a choice, but at times of lack, even N1000 might look so BIG. This situation would only benefit the politicians at the end of the day. An hungry man cannot think straight.
