Election: Benue PDP Chieftains Disown Ortom Over Peter Obi by ryloy(op): 8:05am On Feb 21, 2023

Two prominent members of the Peoples Democratic Party in Benue State have disowned the state governor, Samuel Ortom, over his choice of candidate for the Saturday presidential election in the state.

Former Minister of Power and Steel, Professor Iyorwuese Hagher, and former Minister of Interior, Senator Abba Moro, on Monday, at a town hall meeting organised by professionals for Atiku claimed that none of the presidential candidates had the potential and experience like the PDP’s Atiku Abubakar.

The PDP chieftains urged the participants to go down to the grassroots and draw support for Atiku.

This contradicts the position of Governor Ortom who last week drummed support for the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

The Chieftain and Ortom who is more valid in Benue State?

Ortom is not a performing politician, but he understands the game of using the sentiment of his people.

He became governor under APC, his people was under serious massacre. APC lost relevance in Benue, he moved to PDP.

If you listened to his comment yesterday, he said his people called him and told him their choice. He aligned with his people instantly. That's a good politician for me. You don't need to struggle to get what you want.

APC aim in river state has already been achieve, our aim in river state is for wike to compromise PDP chances of geting vote that they use to get before, that aim has already been achieve before election day but in Benue were I come from APC has 85% of wining all the seat so we don't need ortom, the fight against ortom in Benue are bigger than the one between him and PDP, any one ortom endorse will loose in benue
