The Zikist-Aminu Kano Patriots (ZAP), a nationalistic political movement, says the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi, presents reliable character, capacity, and competence to lift Nigeria out of a Cliff-Hanger.

ZAP also resolved and hereby endorsed Obi and appealed to all Nigerians, irrespective of tribe, creed, political leaning, and philosophy, to reach out for Obi in this critical time of the nation’s history.

The Secretary General of ZAP, Dr. Steve Igweze, said this on Sunday, February 19 in a statement issued after the movement’s general meeting in Enugu at the weekend.

Igweze said that before concluding endorsing Obi, members deliberated on the various issues and expectations of Nigerians from the next president to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari on May 29, 2023.

According to him, “we, therefore, call on eligible Nigerian voters to cast their ballot for the Obi-Datti Presidential ticket, come Saturday, February 25, 2023

ZAP carefully assessed the four leading presidential candidates: Sen. Bola Tinubu of APC, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of PDP, Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso of NNPP, and Mr. Peter Obi of Labour Party

ZAP concluded that, without prejudice to tribe or tongue, Peter Obi presents a more reliable character, capacity, and competence to lift Nigeria out of the present Cliff-Hanger.

Peter Obi’s pledge to transform Nigeria from Consumption to Production is realistic, given the truism that not only he invested in Onitsha, Ogun, Abuja, but also that as a stingy person, it is easier for Obi to save our commonwealth for investment.

ZAP added this virtue is starkly absent in the two other presidential candidates because while one excels as Lagos Tax Collector, the other accumulated wealth as Wharf Tax Collector.

“ZAP deliberated on Obi’s plan to mechanise the swathe of hectares of land in northern Nigeria for massive agrarian revolution.

“ZAP believes that Obi’s agrarian revolution comes as a seamless continuity of President Buhari’s Agrarian Revolution, evidenced by Anchor Borrowers Programme and Green Imperative Project,” he said.

The secretary said that ZAP’s position aligns with the editorial of the Economist of London, which held that Obi is the best among the four front-line presidential candidates.

ZAP believes that by the rotation convention of president from north to south and south to north, which birthed the 4th Republic of Nigeria and ensured equity, justice, and fairness, the LP presidential ticket is balanced and captures the demographic quest for youth inclusion in governance.

“Therefore, Obi fits the bill and offers Nigeria a new path to unity, socio-political stability, and economic progress,” he added.

The coast is getting clearer day by day. People are really tired of corrupt old politicians. If Ob/Datti do any how after winning, we will kick them out too. But I believe that they wouldn't mess up.
As for Tinubu, aso rock is not iragbiji. We don't want a criminal in aso rock.

APC candidate= made money by milking Lagos State dry and tax collector (Agbero, thuggery, etc)
PDP candidate= ask people who worked under him, he was an embodiment of corruption, sharing and selling government property to his caucus friends, family and feed fat from the purse of the country.
LP candidate= Banker, industrialist, only governor in the history of the country to present himself to Efcc, Icpc for check (opposition party at that) and only former governor that refused gratitude, benefits, enjoyments, houses etc for the benefit of the common man and to the development of the state and country in general.

It's time to make a decision and statement, let nature guard and judge our motives, conscience and decision after the election.

Many of the young Obi supporters would understand Nigerian politics better after Saturday. Some of us that have been following Nigerian politics closely since 1999 can't see a path to victory for Obi.

The presidential and national assembly elections are holding the same day. The fact is that Obi winning the election, to a large extent is mutually inclusive of LP having at least a third of the national assembly seats. Go check history. If you believe Obi will win, then you should also believe LP will win around 40 Senatorial and 120 HOR seats. This is not happening. Many of Obi's supporters are modern city dwellers who see Nigeria through their lenses, not realizing that there are millions of illiterate Nigerians littered around rural areas in Nigeria, who many not even be able to read nor identify the Labour Party on the ballot.

Whatever the outcome, I know many Nigerians will learn a lot from it and also learn more about Nigeria through it.

I wish Obi penetrated the core muslim north a little bit more. It would have been a sure path to victory. Cos that would mean they took the PDP stronghold of southeast and southsouth and penetrated the APC stronghold of southwest and core north.
I wish Kwankwaso had agreed to be vice, it would have been a rock solid ticket.
Or Imagine if Atiku had decided not to contest but to support Obi in PDP, while Tambuwal agreed to be Obi's vice... What could stop such a ticket?
But no, the opposition divided and fragmented their votes in the worst possible way.. Atiku one side, Obi, one side, Kwankwaso, one side... This can only hand power back to the ruling party.
Its a no-brainer: to oust a ruling party, you need a united opposition., else the ruking party retains power.
Can't the opposition learn from 2015? Even Sowore was using his Sahara reporters platform to support the opposition, the other man was using premium times,... Apart from the opposition APC then, no other opposition party was visible. That is how to remove a ruling party.
