Equal Employment Opportunity

Lately it has been challenging pushing the over 45 years into gainful employment.

They get thrown crumbs(low pay) as if it’s a favour we are doing them.

The narrative is the same, “they would not fit into our Succession Plan for the next level” or “they won’t fit into our culture”.

I have had to face constant “dueling match” 😀 trying to convince some CEOs and hiring managers to give this set of people a chance.

The higher you get in the upper echelon, the stiffer it gets to finding a satisfying job as opportunities get thinner.

With improved standard of living, access to health and education, the aging process is improving unlike 10-15 years ago.

I have seen some organization loosing the opportunity to dilute their work force and prefer being called “woke” because they have more people that are 35 years and below especially with the advent of the fin-tech industry.

👉🏽 There is a place for Experience in the work place!

👉🏽 There is a place for richness of ideas that experienced people bring on board.

👉🏽 Aging is a Natural phenomenon!

We need to be more accommodating and know that the job is all about right attitude and skills.

Outside this clime, you see the over 50 years and above still working and contributing their quota..

It’s time we stop judging people on the grounds of their age.

Yes.Nigerian army,airforce,navy,customs and other government agencies have age limits.

Even as a footballer, I've never been screened out for any age screening I've participated in.

I have this baby face and I'm not the bearded kind of person. Lol. Na my height dey won Bleep me up sometimes, I'm 6.7''

Even like now, I can go for even under 17 screening and still pass.
