Tflex01:Where did you get this info from? Is it because of politics? I personally know some Yorubas that lived or still live in the Southeast. Some of them were my close friends. A few were serving youth corpers. A rich man from my place built his house by hiring a Yoruba contactor who brought fellow Yoruba workers. I used to speak Yoruba to them. They never complained of ill-treatment because of being Yoruba. My two sisters and a cousin are married to Yoruba husbands. One even married a Yoruba Muslim. I am married to a Yoruba wife too. We are happily married. Igbos and Yorubas have been relating well for years. Let not politics of ethnicity and hate divide us. |

inoki247:Then if we are to ask this sort of question across all 6 geopolitical zones of Nigeria, where will it end? How many Ijaws hold public office in the North East? How many Ibbios hold public office in the South West? How many Kanurus hold public office in the South East? How many Ogoni's hold public office in the North central? By the time you have asked all these questions for the entire 200 tribes in Nigeria and who holds what office in the 6 geopolitical zones in Nigeria, may be you will start to understand the foolishness of the question |

hisexcellency34:Before you will be appointed a Commissioner or Special Adviser by the Governor of a state, you have to be a prominent member of his political party or a top technocrat/ business man that has contributed to the development of the state. Hence the question is how many yorubas are prominent members of political parties in SE? Even though Tinubu is not popular among igbos in Lagos, the igbos in Lagos APC are mobilizing for him and Sanwo Olu. They are contributing millions of naira to their campaigns. Have you heard of Yorubas in Enugu mobilizing for any of the Governorship candidates? You cannot sit in your hut at Ogbomoso and expect the Governor of Enugu or Anambra to appoint you his commissioner. You have to move to his state , invest in the state and prove to him that you deserve such position. The investment of the igbos in Lagos is worth billions of naira. Their population in Lagos is over 5 million. In a fair society, the seat of the deputy Governor of Lagos should have be reserve for the igbos. |

hisexcellency34:My elder brother is well established in Abuja, and he lived there for over twenty five years. His street is named after him. He has the best house in the area. He build a wonderful amusement park, and has several investments in the state. But he has no serious investment in his own state, Bayelsa. If tomorrow he gets political appointment there, will that be bad? |

This question is very silly and out of place First, elective positions are contested for. Nobody will come beg you to contest for any position. Once you know your records in the community or society you are and have so well paid your dues, it becomes easy to contest and win election anywhere. I contested and won an election in Ekiti State as the General Secretary of National Association of Engineering Students even as a Delta guy against a fellow class mate and an Ekiti indigen Furthermore, for selective position like commissioner, how impactful are you in your profession, community and the political space in the community you live? It doesn't matter where you're from, make yourself valuable and sell yourself. In addition, politics is about self positioning. How many yorubas and northerners invest in other states? How many lives there and take the state like their homes? I'm not an Igbo person, but from my observation, these are what an average Igbo man will do. Where I come from in Delta State, I don't know any northerner that have a building over there, not to talk about community development. In PH where I once lived, the Yoruba dominated my area, but how many of them are in politics in the state or LGA? Position yourself rightly, irrespective of where you are and the people will sing your praise into power |

Ttalk:Were the special advisers a source of value to his success or not? Or do you pick someone you don't know to be an adviser? If Adebisi and Adekeye didn't position themselves, do you think they'll be appointed? Be joking and don't add value to whatever you do and mostly, your society or community you find yourself |
