Why INEC omitted our Lagos candidates’ names –LP 25th September 2022 By Oluwafemi Morgan The Lagos State chapters of the Labour Party and the African Action Congress have disclosed the reason behind the omission of their senatorial and House of Representatives candidates on the final list of candidates for the general elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission. Speaking with our correspondent, the state Chairman of the Labour Party, Olukayode Salako, explained that the party’s candidates were omitted from the list because a former chairman of the party, Ifagbemi Awamaridi, did not submit them to INEC at the appropriate time. He, however, assured residents that the party’s National Assembly candidates would still make the Independent National Electoral Commission list before voters go to the polls as they were already in court to address the issue. The final list of candidates for national elections published on the commission’s website on September 1 showed that the LP and five other parties in Lagos State did not have candidates for the National Assembly polls The parties are Action Alliance, All Peoples Party, African Action Congress, All Progressive Grand Alliance, Allied Peoples Movement, Labour Party, and Peoples Redemption Party. But Salako said, “The former chairman of the party, Ifagbemi Awamaridi, did not present the names. He went there (INEC) late and the window closed. We are considering the court option and we will soon have the names of our candidates in the process. It is through the courts that our candidates will be uploaded (on INEC’s website).” “Whether we campaign or not, the Labour Party is forming the next government in Lagos. This is because Lagos residents and Nigerians as a whole are looking for a fresh platform where Nigeria will be run better for the generality of the citizens. There is a revolution going on in the hearts of people; people are tired of the APC, and that revolution is already campaigning for us.” Meanwhile, the state Chairman of the African Action Congress, Ayoyinka Oni, said the party did not field senatorial and House of Representatives candidates because it did not want to allow moneybags to use the platform for personal political gains. “A lot of money bags were already lining up to use our party as the second opportunity in case they failed in their parties. We blocked all avenues because we don’t have such a culture,” he added. https://punchng.com/why-inec-omitted-our-lagos-candidates-names-lp/ nlfpmod mynd44 1 Like |

To the ignorant uncouth mob, read above why lp has no candidate in Lagos NA elections tomorrow. We knew all along that LP has no candidate in all the Lagos NA seats election and kept wondering at how naive and ignorant you uncouth lot are. The plan was to collapse Lagos LP into APC like in Ekiti and it happened. The 24 states with no labour NA candidate on the ballot are Kwara, Plateau, Nasarawa, Lagos, Kaduna,Oyo,Benue,Bauchi,EbonyiEkiti Katsina,Bayelsa, Niger,Rivers,Sokoto,Akwa Ibom,Gombe,Borno, Osun,Adamawa and Cross River states. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2023/02/elections-court-orders-inec-to-accept-labour-party-candidates-in-24-states/amp/ You left the important things undone but spent the last 8 months mocking Asiwaju Tinubu, insult Pastor Poju , Adefarasin, Prof Soludo etc ,insulting and cursing every patriotic Nigerians who rejected your mediocre candidate.smh. APC is making a clean sweep of the Presidential election on Saturday including all the NA seats in Lagos. Lagos is Asiwaju and Asiwaju is Lagos! Asiwaju lokan! N.B: The court judgement you are alluding to did not come until this February 2023 , month of the election when all the ballot papers were already printed and impossible to reverse. The judge gave a judgement that was literally going to truncate the election if INEC had to reprint ballot in 24 states and ship within 2 weeks. Obviously, the court was misled by lp. 18 Likes 6 Shares

Lol. Exactly what i said in the other post. Obi came from PDP and hijacked the party, sidelined people they were meant to be collaborating with, gave friends and family dt know nothing about elections leadership positions. Now one of the friends and family, Dayo Ekong, is disturbing us about cancelling election 48hrs to election. She is even accusing lagos state REC of removing labour logo from ballot paper. Olodo. And rushed to press before confirming from the real party people. These are the disorganized people dt want to manage 200million Nigerians. Your silly disorganized party didnt submit names before deadline, therefore ur not on the ballot. The end. 19 Likes 4 Shares |

List of states with no LP NA seats candidates due to late submission of names of candidates Kwara, Plateau, Nasarawa, Lagos, Kaduna, Oyo, Benue, Bauchi, Ebonyi Ekiti, Katsina, Bayelsa, Niger, Rivers, Sokoto, Akwa Ibom, Gombe, Borno, Osun, Adamawa and Cross River states. This is why most of these candiates decamped from LP to APC and other parties. They knew they were not on the ballot papers. 10 Likes 1 Share |

engrpheleeks: Massiveglory: The court judgement you are alluding to did not come until this February 2023 since September,2022. Justice Inyang Ekwo delivered the judgement in February,2023, same month of the election when all the ballot papers were already printed and impossible to reverse. Even INEC was probably served the judgement copy last week or probably not being served at all till date knowing how the mushroom party, lp, is fond of getting its priority wrong. It is so obvious that the judge gave a judgement that was impossible to execute and was literally going to truncate the democratic exercise of election if INEC had to execute it; It will require time to get the NA to appropriate and approve new INEC budget funds, then reprint ballot papers of 24 states and ship within 2 weeks! That is obviously impossible to achieve! From all indications, it is now clear that the court was misled by lp. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

FreeStuffsNG:You are right. The judgment was delivered on Thursday 2 Feb. 2023 https://www.vanguardngr.com/2023/02/elections-court-orders-inec-to-accept-labour-party-candidates-in-24-states/amp/ It's too late to do anything by then. In a way, LP could be blamed for waiting that long to get the court judgement. Hard lesson. 2 Likes 1 Share |

kcnwaigbo: Nope!! A higher court would set aside the judgement. Most of you guys lack basic knowledge of Nigerian politics otherwise you would know that inec guidelines are quite sacrosanct. If you miss your date of submitting your candidates name, the portal would close down. Goodluck getting it to open before the next election 2 Likes 1 Share |
