25% In FCT A Must? Chatgpt's Interpretation Of Nigeria Electoral Law! by pipnator00(op):
Question: What does the law say about not winning up to 25% of the vote in FCT in Nigeria presidential election

Interpretation: According to the Nigerian Constitution, a presidential candidate must win both a majority of the total votes cast in the election and at least 25% of the votes in at least two-thirds of Nigeria's 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to be elected as President of Nigeria.

If a presidential candidate does not win up to 25% of the vote in the FCT, but meets the other requirements, they will not be eligible to become the President of Nigeria. The same applies if they do not meet the requirement of winning at least 25% of the vote in at least two-thirds of Nigeria's 36 states.

the constitution is simple and straightforward
leave Apc bastards to be interpreting it to suit them.

if FCT is regarded as a state it won't be specified there.

Abuja is a State like any other in Nigeria. Your Chat GPT does not know that. Lmao. Abuja does not have any special status other than it is the capital. Nothing special. Carry your ChatGPT for reprogramming and English lesson.

Section 299 of the constitution says that for the purpose of interpretation of the Constitution, the FCT is regarded as a State.

The implication is that:

The FCT is a State but given a name.

Since the FCT is given a name by the drafts men, it won't be right to say 37 states.

However, the name is 36 States and the FCT. It simply means 37 states.

The court has affirmed that position and the constitution is clear.

Abuja does not have an elected governor but an administrator appointed by president.
for an entity to be termed as a state in a democracy settings it must have an elected administrator.
so this makes Abuja a non state but a territory under FG.
that's why constitution stated that for a president to have that power to appoint an administrator he must meet the 25% votes.
it signifies that you're partially accepted by those occupying the place.

don't be a gross illiterate just to suit your narrative.

You that is a professor but so daft. Territory indeed. Your papa territory abi? Lmao. Every Nigerian and state has equal rights in Nigeria. No Special Status. Abuja had a Minister dafty who is appointed by the President. He acts as assistant to the President because essentially the President this the Governor of Abuja. Abuja is the 37th state in Nigeria. It is just called the FCT to show it is the capital. Nothing more! Abuja is not more special than Ebonyi apoda.

This part of the laws is very clear sir. It's a matter that has been settled long ago. I'm a die hard obident and I was out till 3am on election day so I wish it were true but unfortunately, you don't need 25% in FCT to be declared the winner.

What happened to all the thunder you have been sending to Buhari since 2015? And the one you have been sending to Tinubu since 2015 because of his role to send PDP away? Don't you ever think that thunder is getting back to sender? The one kanu sent to Buhari got landed on Ipob/esn members who are now living in the bushes as wild animals while Buhari keep enjoying himself, his children married to billionaires and their stories changed for better. Ipob/esn that cursed Buhari that he would die had died before him. The same thunder landed on kanu that is been in castrated and treated like animal. Effect of thunder he sent then has landed on his ear and he is there regretting his life. Continue sending thunder or curses and when they land on your future, you will blaming Buhari, Tinubu. You better look for your common sense where you hanged it

The federal presence in Abuja covers all of that. It’s not a special territory. It’s a common state.
