Day by day yo just keep losing the tangible respect you've managed to build up over the years in this sports section especially the Chelsea thread where this thread originated from. Fighting and wishing the worst for your fellow Nigerian who felt the all round pangs under the eight years of buhari who you voted back to back cause of a politician that can cross carpet tomorrow. When have you seen the supreme court in this 21st century overturning a presidential election result? You are actually depending on the corrupt law in this country that even buhari abuses it's judgement without restraint. My whole hood was very quiet after tinubu was announced as winner. I didn't even congratulate my friends who supported him but then again that won't make me wish him to fail or his supporters the worst because I voted obi. Most of the points noted here are not practicable in a democracy like Nigeria .

1. Labour Party has just 6 senators out of 109 senatorial seats in the National Assembly while they have about 34 out of 360 seats in the HOR. If these members choose not to align with other members in the respective houses who are members of other parties; they won’t achieve anything in the house for the next 4 years . Nobody will give the bills they sponsor any reasonable consideration and they will end up not effecting any serious change . So yes, they will just have to make do with being “OH YES “ members while trying to build working relationship with other members of the house .

2. Mandating people to go through “LP’s political school “ will only mean the party will die a natural death . In fact, the party needs political aspirants more than the aspirants need LP. If u go to areas like Northeast and some parts of Southwest where the party has no reasonable foothold and u mandate people to go through any political school, they will just avoid the party like a plague and it will never grow beyond the level it is presently .The author seem to be getting carried away with the media frenzy surrounding the Obi-Datti movement forgetting LP is first of all a political through which different politicians in different states and localities hope to use as vehicle to actualize their dreams for the people they want to represent . If they try to force any ideology on people , they will help populate parties like YPP, SDP, ADC where such people will be forced to move to.

3. Charging political office holders money monthly will never work ; even if does it will be counter productive . Here is why : There’s no law either in the Nigerian constitution , electoral act or the party’s constitution that makes provision for such charges on the income of political office holders under the party. If LP decides to then amend its constitution to mandate people to make such payments to the party’s account monthly , it will only push members to dip their hands into the cookie jar; something we criticize APC and PDP house of assembly members for daily .

Look at it this way, u remember the NDDC off ur mic saga right ? U know the members of house committee on Niger Delta affairs have their hands serious dipped in corruption such that when Akpabio began naming names they had to shush him ? If the party takes a chunk of a LP house of assembly member’s income , they will have no choice but to make the shortfall through other means like receiving bribes for overseeing projects/contracts awarded by the executive and the whole corruption cycle continues . Nothing changes !

4. Lastly I don’t think political parties should be on the street protesting . It doesn’t look good ; let’s say there’s something like ENDSARS and u go there to find out it’s just LP as a party that is protesting it. It will make room for the ruling party to dismiss such protests as lacking merit . They will just see it as a party trying to take control of government through forceful means instead of the ballot box . Just one executive order and the party can even be deregistered ; the party leaders charged for treason and things will go south .

In order for labor party to consolidate on the success it has achieved thus far, it requires serious strategic thinking and not just 90% emotions, 10% thinking .

Wike once accused Amaechi of using the Army to militarize and rig the elections in his favour. The Army responded with this video that it was Wike who tried to bribe them.

I believe both of were saying the truth but it's important to note that the video was made 2019.
