The supreme court just made the old notes legal tender until year end. The problem I see in that is that the notes have been largely destroyed by CBN after collecting them via money deposit banks.
If the supreme court isn't sympathetic to the course of people still having the old notes, who in my estimate are few, why make old notes legal again?
Since the CBN announced and insist the whole move was currency redesign one, The supreme court should be pushing for replacement of every copy of old notes by new ones and not for old ones to stay.
The whole thing sounds as if the supreme court was sympathetic to the cause of those having old note than logical.

You ask yourself, if CBN has the capacity why is the new naira note not sufficient?

They can't compelled them to print new notes. If cbn had common sense that's the proper thing to have done but buhari and mefi has taken us to the stone age era of trade by barter and the nonsense of buying our own money. God!

All I know is that Nigerians must not accept cashless society because I see trouble coming...

Imagine govt in future intimidating citizens to comply to their dictates and failure would lead to blocking of their accounts.

That's what the supreme court should be asking and seeking to resolve and not reintroduction of old notes that's largely out of circulation. Most of what's in circulation are with corrupt politicians looking to buy votes and so a neutral court shouldn't be after old notes.

Cbn cannot just print more new notes when human beings stored billions of naira notes in their homes .
do you know those stored monies are crippling the economy.. do you know those stored notes are used in paying bandits and other terrorists.
do you know if those stored billions are taken to the bank the cbn can use it in assisting small business by way of loans.
do you know if those stored billions are taken to banks cbn will convert them to dollars and making it easier for availability of dollar in the system since that is what drives our economy for now.

Entertaining matters that are not in its Jurisdiction at first all in the name of "Supreme".
The Supreme Court erred went against the constitution that it greater than them.
