The mistake people like GRV make by pointing fingers at slums is the same thing that happens in the US. You solve one problem and create many more. Let us say the Govt decides to tear down all these Lagos slums in order to build new ones...You will have the following: 1. Migration of people...to where? 2. Less people per sqm which again leads to migration 3. Increased rent which again leads to migration 4. Increased cost of living 5. Court cases because some won't give up their lands easily 6. Very high compensation It all sounds great until one actually tries to end one problem..and this is why I don't like politics and politicians that just focus on pictures, videos and lots of talking. Governance is hardwork Lagos Govt introducing new roads into these communities are gradual steps to raise the values of the houses and lands which would then stimulate growth and development. Ghana is facing massive issues with sudden growth and locals can't afford their own cities anymore. Some parts of Lagos have cheaper rents than Ibadan...go figure Sorrynovex: |

He carried criminals blood oo. Don't trust him with Lagos oo. U will cry if u do that ooo. Igbos should not be allowed to destroy Lagos ooo. There is a generational curse on their heads. No Yoruba, Hausa, Fulani and any other tribe can try it in Igbo land oo. Don't allow crazy and mannerless people to bring down Lagos ooo. Lagos is a Yoruba land and our heritage oo. I have said my own. Lagosians must prevent this from happening ooo. |
