The destruction of that toll gate is long overdue..

That is the biggest project against the good people of lagos since 1999...

Just how can a govt add 1 lane to an existing 2 lane road and toll it for life ? For how many kilometers ?

What useless investors are they talking about ?

For a state that is boasting about 50bn monthly IGR is that too much cost to bear for the segment of lagos that contibutes the most tax ?

The criminals even had the audacity to place another toll gate after chevron
Lekki toll gate started operations in 2011, the road was built from borrowed loans from China.

The toll gate is to collect funds to pay debtors and maintain the road

You all want they should destroy the toll gate but if they say you should maintain the road, you will say it is government jib to do that

I don't intend to think for you but I expect you to see the effect of transparency in the execution of projects.

It's just like saying you built a 1km road for 20x the cost and you say you built a road.Don't you know the level of development that you could have achieved with the same resources?
That's about 20km of roads instead of one.

As per the Agberos please stop defending them.I don't want to see you as retrogressive.
To help you a little.
Imagine,if Victor Osimhen who sold petty things on the road at Ojota whilst he was a student ended up becoming an agbero.Just imagine.

Do you know how many Agberos would have become world class boxers, athletes (like Amusan), footballers,or even tax consultants(like Fowler)?

Tinubu and APC are destroying the future of many of these young guys and making Agberoism lucrative.

Tell me why a kid in primary school won't want to be an agbero when he compares MC Oluomo and the headmaster in their school?
Just a question, how will the FOI help reduce contract or overspending?

The bill is just useful to access government records, it does not reduce the cost of constructing a road.

On the issue of Agbero, stop bringing emotions into it, victor oshimen not being an agbero means he decided not to be an agbero rather a footballer.

Everyone cant become a boxer, footballer or tax consultant.

The agbero started as thugs who go about committing crimes against lagosians then came Tinubu who organized them and make them members of the transport union, they organized them, gave them uniforms and then used to collect tax for lagos state.

Now if you want to take them out of the streets, then you must be able to create another job for them instead of just sending them out to the streets

So you still can't see the correlation between transparency and accountability?
I hate spending time stating the obvious bro.
But let me oblige you a little.

If the LASG for example earmarks $120m for a project that should cost $5m and the information is overt, you think the public whose monies are being wasted will allow it?

During BRF's time, for example, he was alleged to build a personal website for #6million naira.I looked at the site and I know it couldn't cost #50k then.
I don't have a problem if he paid from his pocket, he is at liberty to even pay #100m for a plain webisite.

Away from that,
So all agberos decided to be agbero abi?
Lol

Go back to 1996-1998 and see what Col.Buba Marwa did with Agberos in Lagos.

I don't know how old you are but there was an NTA program on sundays then called "Newsline" anchored by Frank Olize and sometimes by Abike Dabiri.

Frank dedicated one of those evenings to the "Marwa Good Boys and Girls".This was a euphemism for the rehabilitated Agberos who became bakery owners and useful to the society.
Within 2year o...Agberos realized that they need to re-channel their energies to productive ventures.
However, after 1999, Tinubu empowered them and encouraged more young people to join.
They were so wild under Tinubu that in 2005, a Soldier was stabbed to death in Oshodi whilst trying to settle a dispute between two Agberos.
The Soldiers responded and arrested as many Agberos they could find in Oshodi.
Guess who went to beg for them?
Tinubu
The commandant was so livid that he walked Tinubu out of the cantonment.

Again, there's no justification for encouraging Agberoism. People seldom become Agberos when the society celebrate enterprise and orderliness.

Doherty is above him in everything but you cannot convince hollow objects.

I want to explain something, if government say that they are embarking on a project to build road, lets say the road cost 2million naira, you as a citizen can not tell government not to build the road because you are not an expert.

Transparency and accountability only starts and end on what government publish and what documents you are allowed to have access to. most of the time, documents like bidding document to who won a certain contract are only recorded and published when the excercise have taken place.

On the issue of agbero, yes agbero decided to become an agbero, it is a job, anyone can Register with the transport union and become one, no one put a gun on their head to become one.

You made mentioned of marwa, we are no more in a military rule but in a democracy, people have right especially when they are registered and backed by the law, you cant wake up one day and say you want to banned them without facing legal issues, even if you temporarily ban them, do you have any alternatives or jobs for them? Why add them the unemployment and crime rates?

I only decided to toe the line of “the great MIT” narrative. Where is the pretense there? Or are you too blind to see the gap in educational and professional experience? You guys are amazing.

GRV is good for Lagos.
For now GRV is not good for Lagos, maybe in the future.

I don't think you love Lagos with your assertion.

My own is that sanwo olu must launch the red and blue metro line.

He must complete the Massey children hospital and so many other projects on ground.

I love the fact that he completed most of Fashola's project

We don't want abadoned projects in in Lagos.

It is not as if they have been spectacular in Lagos or that there is no corruption in Lagos.

Continuity has helped Lagos to become the 5th Largest economy.

We all know Obi has experience, Grv has none bith public and private to judge him

Remove GRV from the equation, you'd never mention Doherty as a choice.

Do you like the black book that Lagos State govt has been operating since 1999?
Doherty stands no chance against Sanwo-Olu

I have read what he plans to do in the first 100 days in office as governor of lagos state and some of his plans seems unrealistic., they might literally cause chaos, create uncertainty in lagos state.

To be realistic, we need a governor in lagos state that has practical and realistic policies for Lagos state.

In my opinion, GRV is more interested in destroying the legacy of the APC, rather than actually developing lagos state.
Agbero legacy

It's funny how heeboes have the answers to the problems in Yorubaland but are clueless on how to solve their own problems.

Well, this madness would end next Saturday. The bastard's vote would be divided into 2. Half would be given to him while the other half would be divided between Jandor , Doherty and other candidates.
