Peter Obi has exposed their scam. Now they want to retrace their steps. Fuel Subsidy is a scam the Presidency use to enrich themselves. A new Nigeria is POssible. |

Subsidy gulps N150 billion every month.” N150 billion is still less than the N200 billion monthly transport bonus bill the regime will pay to 400 million Nigerians. In other words, Nigeria will spend more money on transport bonus to an amorphous, unidentifiable, and probably cooked-up 40 million poor Nigerians than the subsidies it says it pays on petroleum subsidies, which it says are too expensive to be sustainable. That makes absolutely no sense.https://gazettengr.com/farooq-kperogi-same-old-cruel-lies-to-justify-fuel-price-hike/ After claiming "fuel subsidy is a fraud" the APC have ended bastardizing the meagre resources and the Nigerian economy by perpetuating the same fraud for the past 8 years. Everyone part of this criminal conspiracy ought to be rounded up and shot. |

Even their failed promises of providing refineries was also a flop. After promising and failing they're now embarking on repair on the same refineries they have repeatedly budgeted staggering billions for Turn Around Maintenance(TAM). Lies has a beginning and also has an end.Zombies what do you guys got to say now? "Gen.Muhammadu Buhari, the APC presidential candidate has promised to build FOUR new petroleum refineries in Nigeria if elected president during the forthcoming elections taking place later this month..." |

A welcome development. Though I see it as a way to give Tinubu (if his fraudulent electoral victory stands) a soft landing, and he can also claim he wasn't responsible, should there be a backlash from the masses. But had the opposition party been declared as the winner of 25 February presidential election, this APC administration wouldn't have considered removing the subsidy before May 29. Anyways, let Bubu and his gang of evil men begone. We've had enough of wickedness in high places that have be-devilled naija since APC came into power. |

Nigeria is remotely controlled by all our lenders, from World Bank, IMF and even to the Chinese lenders. That is why Nigeria government must always obey whatever dictates the lenders give out on recouping their money. Remember that the IMF advised Nigeria government to increase its VAT and electricity tariff in order to meet up with its loan servicing. When subsidy is finally removed, the fund will be used in servicing loan which we may not finish paying in the next 30 years. But the sad truth is that as Nigeria is borrowing these monies, some people in government are embezzling it heartlessly. |

kernniejay:Our leaders are zombies. Why was there subsidy in the first place? Subsidy was introduced to attract foreign investors with cheap energy. Ghana and other countries around us have next to steady power supply. The only advantage Nigeria has over Ghana going by our epileptic power supply is cheap energy. By the time you remove subsidy most companies will pull out of Nigeria to neighbouring countries where power supply is more stable than Nigeria. Government should invest efforts is to identify and block all the loopholes of fuel diversion. Cheaper fuel benefits local industry. |

#EndSARS is still fresh in our minds as we vote on Saturday... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLAxgLSQsFE Sanwo-Olu was used by his godfather against armless protesting Nigerian youths. On Saturday, we're replacing Sanwo-Olu with someone who won't tolerate the nuisance MC Oluomo creating, and unconditionally bring justice to all in Lagos State. Elluu P from top to bottom |

Useless set of people... you claim you spend 250bn monthly on subsidy on consuming over 90m litres of fuel. Pakistan, same 3rd world country, same population size and almost similar in poverty consumes about 50m litres... You claim you raised VAT to get revenue because all you had was thrown into subsidy, how then did our debt get to over 300%?... Return LP's mandate...

It is going at last If they are sensible about it, and they really mean it this time (not the previous time where they would say subsidy is gone, while still setting the price)...good news, and probably would be the only good thing APC has done. If APC does it, then good for them We cannot be spending money keeping fuel cheap. And you cannot back subsidy, and then come and tell me that government should not set prices of your services you sell. For more reasons why subsidy should go, the articles below should be informative. Kobonaire4: |
