I certainly didn't understand the history book I read growing up till 2023 election.
The amount of hate from Wike in PDP to Peter Obi before the primary. Apc treatment of Ogbonna Onu and Rotomi Amaechi.
Peter Obi acted alone and got support, but we can all see where it's leading to. Most Woke Igbos are still frightened about a Case of Igbos in Nigeria if this continues to be the normal treatment.
Igbos are a tribe with much personal pride and this has nothing to do with hate but personal aggrandisement. Most worked hard to where they are today with little or no education and usually go berserk when success finally arrives. I understand this is hard for other tribes to sip.

Yourbas won under every Lp in Lagos, not Igbos. Yoroubas canvass for Igbo votes every election and when an Igbo man brags about his support to a Yoruba it becomes a problem. The igbophobic hate isn't because Igbos are planning to rule Nigeria but Igbos for the first time in their history are becoming woke to the election and taking sides openly which every tribe has been doing since 1999.
I know the kind of hate I get from my brethren each time I tell them the risk I took to vote in 2015 made me make up my mind never to take any Nigerian election seriously. They assume I don't love progress enough.
The future won't be easy.

There's nothing like igbophobia or whatever you call it.

Go into the streets of any state and see how Igbos and yorubas are coexisting peacefully, young or old. It's just a few online miscreants that are trying to create tension for reasons best known to them.

It's pure igbophobia. I could understand if this election was between a Yoruba and igbo. But it was simply Yoroubas among themselves but the narrative is more like a hidden igbophobic hate with a lot of lies flying up and down.

The Wisdom and Foresight God Gave to Awolowo and our Fathers when they stopped Azikiwe from becoming the Premier of the West must have almost killed them

So if an Easterner is controlling the West and an Easterner is in Control of the East then where will the West be in Control of?

Could Azikiwe have done what Awolowo did for the West?.

Who says Lagos is no mans land than same Yoroubas that came from their various states to claim omonile in lagos. Stop using Kalu statement to colour your greediness that has almost alienated most of your folks from Lagos. Lagos is no mans land statement was even a debate in 1970 long before any Orji Uzor Kalu.
Lagos has indegens and same statement was said by neighbouring Yoruba when they arrived in Lagos.
I guess the politician knows how to control your kind every election.. From tomorrow Lagos will be no man land but during another election cycle same slogan would be raised up.

Op u made me smile. You counted Rotimi Amaechi as an Igbo man and his kinsman Wike is not. Lol. Amechi recently said he is no Igbo but Ikwerre.
No one hates Igbos. Igbos understand the feelings of their host and deliberately try to work to effect a change not welcome by their host.
Let's start with Rivers State. Most people in Rivers State supported Obi but at State level would want to vote PDP. And just because of the political jerrymandering of some persons Igbos decided to go against PDP. This pitched them.against most communities they live in.
Yesterday temper were high unfortunately they didn't come out to vote their preferred candidates.
May be they listened to advice asking them to travel to their respective states to vote in their preferred candidates as the election was local and required the local people to vote in candidates of their choice.

OP just showed the typical easterners mentality. They blame others for their failures.
Ayim Pius Ayim contested the primaries and the Igbo delegates didn’t vote for him.
Same thing happened in APC, but a typical Igbo person will not blame his kinsmen for voting a Northerner/Westerner but will rather blame other regions.

Nigerians are killed outside Nigeria not just igbos. Why are most of your folks living in denial?
The country you mentioned above, are not conscious of our tribe difference. I can understand why Abike projection of Nigerians is coming from. Most of his tribe folks live in denial. Fela would be crying in his grave seeing suffering smiling version two.
If Igbos are hated outside like you said, how does the profiling affect igbos Alone?. Are you not also segregated when you travel abroad?
Can't you see, it's a result of a failed government that is producing criminals both in the country and folks with same mentality outside the country?
Why are you lots living in denial? Always trying to make Nigeria problem a tribe thing whereas the politicians don't care. Suffering and evil is shared among all tribes, yet your type will be so fast to say it's affecting a particular tribe differently.
I marvel for your tribe reality distortion especially when they are being snuffed to death by it.

The military gave us the constitution that we are killing to defend today, so why demonizing the military?
The military handed over to politicians who asked for democracy. Yet these 'quasi-democrats' cannot manage a simple election that other democratic countries organise without rancour and rigging. They claim to be democrats but threaten other Nigerians from freely voting their choice. They kill, they maim, they mutilate results and steal people's votes.

Nigeria's election swallows 300 billion Naira every four years, voting is done on a flimsy paper and fake results are manually mutilated and written in the bedroom of politicians after collation at the polling stations. Are the voters who stand in the rain and sunshine that worthless?

Political thugs are everywhere threatening and killing people who want to vote their choice. How is that different from the Liberian war where people's hands were cut off to prevent them from voting?

The Solution
In the event that judiciary becomes too cowardly to call a spade a spade and end rubber-stampping this open electoral heist that has negated every norms of democratic process, the military must must not hesitate to save the country from being thrown into anarchy by politicians who do not believe in the rights of others in a free democracy.

How will they do this? An interim government should take charge and fix the electoral system to ensure that minimal or zero human interference is allowed in our electoral system.

A 100% electronic voting system is what is needed now. Voters get accredited with their voter's card ONLY ONCE, and then vote in a paperless electronic manner, the votes are recorded and sent directly to the server and seen on the INEC IREV in REAL-TIME.
It has to be transparent, so that losers and winners will agree with the results.

Rigging of elections usually happens between when ballots are counted and when the votes are collated by INEC. That is usually when the results are mutilated or destroyed and the fake ones recorded..That should be stemmed in the tide by e-polling and e-collation and e-transmission of votes. A lot of money will be saved from printing worthless ballot papers that can be snatched anytime by political thugs trying to subvert the process.

Politicians who have vested interests cannot give us a perfect electoral system. When the debate for BVAS and IreV was brought up on the floor of the Senate last year, many sitting politicians afraid of loss of popularity back home, opposed the inclusion of clause 'INEC shall transmit electronically', this has given INEC and politicians the wherewithal to claim 'there is no network, we will transmit the votes when we get to the office', allowing the sustenance of an electoral system that is fraught with heavy irregularities.

Videos abound of INEC presiding officials who have been bribed by politicians telling the voters 'we will not upload until we get to the office', of course we know that once they get to their office (or the sitting rooms of politicians), the results are mutilated or changed outrightly. That's an insult to the Nigerian voters.

No politician will allow such reform to happen, not even Tinubu will let that happen. Only a dispassionate interim military government can institute an electoral reform that will be fair to all and hand it over to Nigerians.
We need to consider this a surgical procedure that will strengthen true democracy in the aftermath.
