Democratic (PDP) rival.

Sokoto right from 1999 was never a PDP state. Even tambuwal was inially elected on ApC platform before he decamped to PDP and his then deputy who is now d newly elected governor had to resign.

Even in 2019, it was a narrow escape for Tambawal.
Most of these politicians that left their state for national politics, actually paid heavy price for it. Some lost home and away
