Start the meritocracy from Umuahia abi you no like merit and Integrated menene for ya side?
Well I hope for that but the fact is that abia has a 90-95% igbo population just like ekiti and Ondo for yorubas.

However lagos has such a rich diversity that I doubt that any group has a 51% majority. Or being generous 60% majority.

Lagos is home to the most number of nigerian immigrants, that's those coming in from other countries into Nigeria. Be it Lebanese, Ghanians, indians, South Africans, foreign expatriates and diplomats before we start talking of inter state migration.
People from Edo, benue, Kano, akwaibom and Anambra that emigrate to Lagos.

Again, Lagos is the biggest city in Africa!

Lagos' diversity mirrors the diversity of the biggest cities in the world, newyork, London, California and the rest who all have people of different origins ruling them as we speak. Children of immigrants governing them, why dont we do the same in our home country?

Bro, these assertion does not add up... We have never had this dimension come up in our discussions here which have been very intense in in the last 3months...

@Larride, @Raumdeuter @Oasis @GloriousG any other APC person privy to the existence of such plot by Igbos to take over Lagos and dethrone the Oba of Lagos? I believe it sounds ludicrous especially seeing these are yoruba candidates.
Whether its true or not, there were several messages sent around 2015 when it was alleged that Jimi Agbaje after meeting with certain Ibo groups in Lagos promised to elevate the Eze Ndigbo stool to the level of Oba of Lagos

The message was very common online in that time you can google it

The problem with most of you is you speak too confidently from a position of ignorance.

The two persons he insulted - Adeboye and Tinubu.

Tinubu he calls Afonja/Afonjagaban because he's convinced he would sell/is selling the Yoruba race for his personal ambitions...prior to when it became clear Tinubu was running for president, I can bet that's an opinion a good number of Yoruba's held.

Adeboye, Adeboye gets dragged on Twitter like every two weeks for one thing or the other for reasons not limited to the role his church and members of his church have played in this Buhari mess, his now found lukewarm attitude to politics despite him being an active player in political events prior to the emergence of Buhari, and the posts he makes that people sometimes find just weird.

The particular tweet on Adeboye that GRV responded to was the tweet of him saying" El-Rufai is a kind person and has a tender heart." El-Rufai is widely believed to be complicit in the murder of Christians in the majority Southern Kaduna part of the State, yet Adeboye, a Christian leader is endorsing this same person and you believe he shouldn't be getting slammed?

Tribes have behaviors that people deem typical that even persons from said tribes can use to attack persons from their tribe even, it's like an Igbo man seeing another Igbo man act money-loving and he'd say "typical Igbo behavior" or a Warri person seeing another Warri person acting rachet and he'd say "typical Warri behaviour" (no insults intended)...Yoruba leaders are widely believed to be asskiss Northern leaders, and that clearly was the context from which he was speaking.

As regards him supporting IPOB, he supports IPOB just as much as he supports Yoruba Nation agitatiors/ Amotekun, and he clarified that he however doesn't agree with the violence that's now come to be associated with IPOB.

It's funny seeing educated people make allusions to a grand plan that involves GRV/IPOB/takeover of Lagos...omor, APC sabi this propaganda work cheesy
Imagine this ridiculous defence. Comparing apples and oranges.

Well, the decision has been made and he should go and lick his wounds and become a better person.

For leadership na! cheesy

You can't be comparing Lagos with any other state in Nigeria. Not even other nigerian cities like Kano and portharcourt.

It is just too diverse. It would surprise you to know that there is even a small town that is predominantly made up of Ghanians in Lagos around badagry or so. My point is Lagos is the first port of call for any immigrant into Nigeria.

Every other megalopolis that mirrors the diverse makeup of Lagos usually has people of various different origins leading it. So far as it's a democracy.

How can abroadians be celebrating the rise of Nigerians into high positions abroad but then frown at it happening right here in their own country within their own compatriots?
How can you have equal representation in another person's place?

Is there equal representation of other nationalities in the USA?

Why does it seem you are resisiting this meritocracy in Abia

You an apostle of merit should encourage that. Get a merit based system where Malam Abubakar from Katsina is the governor of Abia
Rivers state also has this rich diversity, Anambra has this rich diversity start the meritocracy from there abi Merit no sweet you?

2019…. Ohaneze Ndigbo Lagos chapter endorsed Sanwo Olu…. I’m pretty sure those messages were propaganda again.

Maybe the word "equal" is contentious. What I mean is that everyone deserves representation, don't you think??

Tribalism and racism are just birds of same feather.

You have millions of igbos in Lagos, just like millions of edos and hausas. If an igbo man, or an Edo man or hausa man emerges as the representatives of those regions respectively or one of them emerges the governor of the state, is it really bad?? Is that not what we see in other healthy democracies??

Seconded.

To him, either only Lagos has diversity or the diversity of a state like Port Harcourt is not enough to allow an Islamic cleric to become a governor in Abia.

Again, yes I agree with this statement.

I wish to see a day where the state of origin of a candidate does not matter, but his competence and qualities. That is the ideal situation.

But of course, this is almost impossible in places where 95% of the inhabitants (people PRESENTLY living there) are all from one tribe or group.
what I'm saying is that leadership should mirror the inhabitants.

So push for that now, you dont need to worry about 95% or 5%. The Obama example you give well Its not like America waited for Kenyans to be 95% of the US population

Start in Aba, there is a Malam somewhere, Okay lets even use Kwankwanso or El Rufais son as a test for Abia governorship so that Lagos and other places can learn from merit based leadership in Abia

I also don’t agree… Lagos as it is, is the vision of Yoruba people… It’s not perfect but another tribe or someone not grounded in its doings can’t rule it and should not rule.

Culture is important and Nigeria is not US

Nobody is asking for kingship in Lagos… I’m not sure there’s any coronation to that.

But if you are a traditional man… You’ll know that man’s coronation is not a small thing. King Maker for ordinary unizik sef get big tradition meaning
