PDP’s Dauda Lawal Unseats Zamfara Gov Matawalle In Stunning Upset

In what may be described as the biggest upset of the general elections, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate Dauda Lawal has unseated Zamfara State Governor Bello Matawalle.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Lawal the governor-elect with a total of 377,726 votes, after he defeated Matawalle of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who polled 311,976.

He was announced as the winner in Gusau, the state capital in the early hours of Tuesday.

Zamfara was a huge loss but only God knows wat plays out there.

You surely don't know nothern politics, the governor elect will decamp to the APC in years time.

Yari and the present governor are not in good terms and Yari explore an opportunity to deal with him. That's all.

If you checked well, the present governor is never confident of getting reelected that's why he dumped PDP to the APC trying to appease Yari but it was just not enough.

But APC actually won the 2019 election with a wide margin, only that INEC refused to recognize the APC primary elections.

So the 2nd placed PDP candidate became Governor on a platter. He later decamped to the APC to ensure he is re-elected.

Same way APC won in Bayelsa, but 2nd placed PDP is ruling.
