Former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Michael Aondokaa, in this interview clarifies that the Supreme Court has already ruled in a case as far back as 2008, that for a candidate to be declared president, he, apart from scoring 25% of votes cast in the 2/3 of the states of the federation, such candidate must score 25% of the votes cast in the FCT.

"......The former AGF recalled that the Supreme Court had in 2008 in a suit involving the current President, Muhammadu Buhari, and the then President, Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, resolved the issue of the 25 per cent in 2/3 of the states of the federation and the FCT.......

In their haste to enthrone a man with many moral baggages as king, INEC ended enmeshing itself in a lots of illegalities.

They never made such a ruling.both yaradua and buhari got 25% in fct so it never came up.what they ruled on was the meaning and importance of AND.see buhari vs yaradua supra.

When they were rigging they forgot to pad up the FCT numbers. The constitution is very clear of this issue. Do we need another interpretation into our local languages to understand Section 134?

The most important thing is that Tinubu/Shettima weren't qualified to contest in the first place.

If that's the case, they will have to refer to the outstanding judgement.

The only reason this set of judges will interpret the law differently is if the Druggie has greased their palms. Dude has a lot of money to throw around.

But is that enough to call for a runoff? Things will get interesting in the coming months.

Tinubu and INEC chairman may be arrested for going against the Constitution.

Tinubu will not be sworn in, the Good people of Yorubas have abandoned their Tribal rhetorics, Keyamo, Onanuga and FFK are on their own.

Shameful these guys come to Nigeria and Nigerians aid them to even discriminate against Nigerians. Lebanese wey flee lebanon. We don really suffer. And to think our politicians don't fully understand the import of what they are doing in the name of politics beats me.

Don’t tell me you don’t have the mental capacity to understand my analogy 🤦

Does Aondoakaa being disrobed take away what he learnt in Law School and the experience he has garnered from his years of practice before being disrobed?

Fantastic.

Now what do you think that means to Obi and Atiku’s argument of Tinubu not satisfying the constitutional provision by failing to get 25% in the FCT?

If it is established now that the Supreme Court has defined AND as a conjunctive, the implication is that “AND the FCT” is a separate requirement that must be satisfied before one can be declared president.

Or will the Supreme Court come back now and define AND as a disjunctive?
