My printer power pack blew. I was getting ridiculous charges to replace what is a cheap power pack and then I remembered the device should be under warranty. I took it to the hp office in Ikeja. They first held it for a day while they confirmed it was an original hp product. Apparently most of the new hp printers in pc village are refurb reassembled repackaged and sold as new.

I did not buy my printer from pc village, so it passed. Like so many things in Nigeria, unless you have insider knowledge you will be buying shit. When the appliance starts having issues you will be told different ridiculous stories.

You sold a set to me that the next day it started having issues, you replaced it with another set and in less than 2 weeks or so the replaced unit started ANOTHER type of screen issues.! All this within two months oh....the same socket where this tv is plugged i have a surge connected,i have a mini LED projector and my DStv connected all working fine to this minute.

Since you have brought this to the open, I will respond to other Nairanlanders to judge.

Firstly the set you claim is open box, I later found out when all the issues started that the model number in the TV was even for a 49in curved TV online of which you sold as a flat screen 50in telling me it's not a big deal. How is a 49in curve manifesting as a 50in flat screen and you claim the set hasn't been tampered with

I have two LG TVs. They are on ups but the ups battery has not been replaced. No stabiliser, no surge arrester. And they have had no issues for the past 4 years.

I am always wary of buying TVs from alaba first and foremost because the TV will not be moved in original Styrofoam packaging that absorbs shocks. You cannot guarantee that vibrations or bumps will not rattle components in the TV when you drive it. Those selling it know this.

Also some TVs come with faults that are inexpertly fixed. Whether this is deliberate or laziness, I can't say. I know for instance that most issues with TVs seem to come down to blown capacitors that can be replaced. But what quality of capacitor is the seller using? One that will blow at the smallest power issue, prompting additional charges?

Bro, i dont think this is fair on the buyer at all at all.

Take the time out to search for and read the fraud thread about Sommydisaster (another seller of tokunbo TVs), also read the testimonies from other people there, you will see that there is clearly a pattern and probable intent to these issues.

Again, there are inconsistencies with the software version written of the TV and manufacturer website (49" ) and what it is sold as (50" ), strongly suggesting a rework, follow-come defect or persistent underlining issue. We all know the kind of underhanded manipulations that go on at Alaba International. This is not a coincidence.

Also, if you understand the working mechanism of an inverter, you will understand that a pure sinewave delivers a very clean electricity wave and a 3kva inverter is large enough to carry normal home appliances without having to trip off while working or being connected. I use an inverter too so I speak out of direct experience. I am more at ease using my TV on my inverter than using it on Nepa light.

If Alabaconnect is not forthcoming with refunding the buyer's money in full, then he should replace the screen at his own full cost and give warranty on the screen. It is very wrong for him to compel the buyer to contribute money to repair the screen of a TV he has gotten zero value for money from. Would you agree to same if it was you?

There are only FEW trustworthy and honest accredited dealers there. Even Slot can't be trusted 100% again.

Some of those Accredited Sellers sells refurbished phones and package it as Brand New. This scenario is very common at CV like a poster mentioned up there earlier.

I know 100% of all Tricks, Nitty Gritty of CV. I was residing at one of those buildings before CV came to existence.
